As she departed to fetch our meal, I remained near the glass window, observing her as she climbed into her car and drove off. Pulling out my phone, I dialed Jack's number, and he answered promptly. "Hello, boss," he greeted respectfully. "The apartment next to the park, is it still available?" I inquired, recalling that it hadn't been rented out last I checked. "Not yet, boss.
