chapter 01

The arena of the Tri-Cycle War.

The sky was covered in black clouds. Thousands of spectators were seated, because this is the one battle that is most thrilling every year. Five players were standing in the center, all wearing masks. No one is allowed to see anyone's face.

The King begins to announce their names.

After the first, the second, the third... the fourth name is called.

"Li Cangming."

The moment they heard his voice, the entire arena erupted. Everyone started screaming his name.

And the fifth...

"Su Xiaoxiao."

Hearing the name, everyone was shocked. Whispers spread through the crowd. The King silenced everyone and started the battle.

*ROUND 01: Spirit Energy*

King - "You all know what the first round is. Still, I will say it. In this round, you must fight with your Spirit Energy. You can see this circle below, do not step outside it. You will stay in your place, but your Spirit will fight on your command. Whoever exits the circle first will be disqualified. And whoever makes them exit will be the winner of this round. Let's begin."

As soon as the round started, everyone released their Spirits. One had a Monkey Spirit, one had a Butterfly Spirit, one had a Cat Spirit, Xiaoxiao's Spirit was a Phoenix, and Cangming's was a Dragon Spirit.

As soon as the fight started, Xiaoxiao attacked the Dragon Spirit directly. Since it was sudden, Cangming didn't get a chance. But then Cangming pushed Xiaoxiao's Spirit far away. A fierce battle began between the two. On the other side, the Monkey Spirit pushed the Cat Spirit out. The bell rang. The fight was over.

King - "In this round, Cat Spirit is disqualified."

ROUND 02: The Poisoned Dumplings

King - "The second round will begin now. In this round, you must use your wisdom to eat dumplings. But before that, each of you will get a chance to poison one dumpling. Then you must use your judgment to eat a safe one. Two will lose here. Let's begin."

Cangming went first and poisoned the first dumpling. Then Xiaoxiao came and saw six dumplings. She poisoned the last one. Then Monkey Spirit poisoned the third, and Butterfly Spirit poisoned the fifth.

King - "Now, discuss among yourselves and come to eat."

Cangming - "According to me, Butterfly Spirit should go first."

Butterfly Spirit - "Me? I won't go first. Mrs. Su Xiaoxiao, you go first, because you are the only girl."

Su Xiaoxiao - (Arrogantly) "I didn't ask for your reason, Butterfly Spirit. You are not going because you are afraid of Mr. Li Cangming. But I am not afraid, so I will go first."

Xiaoxiao went first and ate the fourth dumpling.

King - "You have eaten a safe dumpling, Mrs. Su Xiaoxiao."

Xiaoxiao - "I know, Your Majesty."

She said to Butterfly Spirit - (Classic tone) "Now you go. I have cleared the path for you."

Butterfly Spirit then went and ate the third dumpling.

King - "Wrong judgment, Butterfly Spirit. It was poisoned, and it was poisoned by Monkey Spirit."

Butterfly Spirit was out. Now Monkey Spirit went to eat. He ate the sixth dumpling.

King - "Wrong judgment, Monkey Spirit. It was poisoned, and it was poisoned by Mrs. Su Xiaoxiao."

Monkey Spirit was out. Cangming went and ate the second dumpling.

King - "You have eaten a safe dumpling, Mr. Li Cangming. It was expected from you."

Cangming - "Thank you, Your Majesty."

King - "Now the third round will begin. According to the rule, the masks of the two who remain will now be removed. You can see these boxes, the keys are placed around. You must take a key and open it, and bring the thing inside to me. But one will open it and the other will be eliminated. This is the main purpose of the Tri-Cycle War. Start the third round."

The masks were removed. For the first time, Li Cangming and Su Xiaoxiao saw each other's faces.

Xiaoxiao looked at her hand, where the three desires were —

Yan — The Desire of Fire

Shui — The Desire of Water

Lei — The Desire of Thunder

Xiaoxiao used Lei Power and struck Cangming with a fierce thunderbolt so that Cangming was injured at the very beginning. Taking that chance, she went to open the box, but then Cangming drew his sword and fought with Xiaoxiao. Xiaoxiao fought with her Shui against his sword. Then Cangming made it rain ice with his sword. To save herself, Xiaoxiao used Yan Power to block it, but suddenly her hand started to ache terribly. She saw that the ring was connected to her body, but the core of her Yan Power had shattered.

Xiaoxiao collapsed on the ground, badly injured. And Cangming opened the box. Everyone sitting started screaming — Cangming! Cangming! Cangming!

The King put the Saviour God sticker on Cangming's shoulder.

Cangming came to Xiaoxiao, lifted her chin with his hand and said - (Arrogantly) "Su Xiaoxiao. You couldn't defeat me. And you never will. And your name will always stay in my mind. Su Xiaoxiao."

Xiaoxiao was about to say something, but then —

King - "Su Xiaoxiao, you may leave."

Xiaoxiao agreed and was leaving.

Then the minister whispered something in the King's ear and

King said - "Wait, Su Xiaoxiao! Leave your ring behind."

Xiaoxiao - "What do you mean? It's mine."

King - "Now it will be ours."

Xiaoxiao - "Your Majesty, what are you saying? No, I won't give it."

Xiaoxiao ran away. The King sent his soldiers to catch her.

Xiaoxiao came to her room and saw Master sitting there.

Master - "Xiaoxiao, how did you lose? You must run. I have seen everything."

Xiaoxiao - "Master, look, the core of my Yan Power is broken. That's why I lost. Please see."

Master looked at her hand and said - "Xiaoxiao, Li Cangming has taken your Yan Power. Now you have to go to him and take your power back. Cangming took it intentionally."

Xiaoxiao - "Master, can't I use my other powers, Shui and Lei?"

Master - "No, Xiaoxiao. Because if you use them, you might die. So you have to go to him and ask him to return your power. He took it on purpose."

Mi Feng - "Sister Xiaoxiao, they are coming."

Master - "Xiaoxiao, you go through here. And Mi Feng, you go with your sister."

Xiaoxiao - "Brother, take me with you."

Mi Feng opened a portal and left with Xiaoxiao.
