In the hospital's deluxe double suite, a nurse tended carefully to the woman's wound, gently cleaning and redressing it.
The patient, thrashing in her bed as though trapped in a nightmare, screamed loudly, "Get away, you sewer rat! Stay back! Ah!"
Alarmed, the nurse pressed the help button and leaned closer to comfort her, "Shh... It's okay, dear. God is watching over you and will banish these dark shadows. Don't be afraid. You will find peace soon."
Gradually, the woman calmed under the nurse's soothing reassurances.
"Where am I?" Eve rasped, rubbing her throbbing head as she glanced weakly at the nurse.
"You're in a hospital, my dear," the nurse replied gently. "Oh, you poor thing. You must have endured so much. But it's okay now. You're safe. And your friend is here too."
