Chapter 7

*Klaus’s POV*

I woke up and got dressed, it was time for school. I haven’t been flirting with other girls after I told Aria how I really felt. I arrived at school and I was early. I saw Emma walking toward me, I rolled my eyes. She is this wanna be popular girl who first non stop. “Hey baby”, she cooed. “I’m not your baby”, I said while walking away. “Hey, don’t walk away from me, I know you want me”, she yelled. I ignored her. She wasn’t but sometimes she was wrong. I did want her before but that was because I never understood what a relationship was about until I saw Conner and Axel in a relationship. I went to go to Aria’s locker. 

“Hey, why are you at her locker”, Emma started to rub my chest. “Leave me alone Emma, I’m serious”, I said. “I know you don’t mean that”, she leaned in for a kiss. I just stood there but I didn’t kiss back. “Come on, kiss me back I know you want to. What’s Aria going to do, huh run away like she always does?”, she said while leaning in again. “No f**k that, don’t say things about her like that. If I don’t kiss you back, get a clue”, I said with venom while moving out the way. I started to walk away. “Just wait, you're going to come back running for me. I walked away because I can’t take it anymore, she does have a sexy figure. She was okay in bed, I mean she always wants something. I waited about 10 minutes till the group shows up. 

I went back to Aria’s locker after Emma left, she kept eyeballing me. I greeted Aria with a hug and a kiss on her forehead. She hugged me back which made me smile. I saw Emma coming over and she bumped into Aria while making her drop her coffee. “Yo, what the f**k”, I glared at Emma. “Oops my bad'', she smiled walking away. “f**k”, Aria started to wipe her shirt. I always carried an extra black shirt with me. “Hold on I have a shirt you can change in '', I gave her it from my backpack. “Thank you”, she started to go to the bathroom to change. After about 5 minutes, she came back. “You look sexy in the shirt of mine, love”, I whispered in her ear making her blush. “Can I come over today”, I asked her. “Yeah”, she said. 

School was over today, which was great it took forever but I had detention so I had to stay an extra hour. I went over to Aria’s but someone stopped me. “Baby, come here. I have something to say”, Emma said. “What”, I asked. “Either give me you or I make Aria’s life hell”, she said. “What do you mean make Aria’s life hell?”, I said while stepping forward. “I can spread rumors, keep bumping into her, and mess up her school work and grades since my parents have a connection with the school. s**t Aria’s school was important, she can go to a good ass college with her grades. “Fine, Only this time”, I said. I was regretting it already but I can’t mess up Aria’s school. It meant a lot even though she doesn’t try much. She was still smart. 

I went to Aria’s after I was done with Emma. I didn’t smell any perfume on me so I think I was good. My mind is honestly confused because I am serious about Aria, but Emma is threatening her. “Hey love”, I said as she greeted me with a hug. “Heyyyy”, she said. She was happy but went to a lower one. “You okay”, I asked. “Yeah”, she said. s**t when she usually says one thing there is something wrong. I notice when she does this. “You can come to my room”, she said. “Alright”, I said while walking to her room. I took off my jacket and gave it to her but she didn’t want it. When I give her my jacket she usually accepts, weird. “You okay, love”, I asked. “Why do you smell like perfume?”, she asked. s**t, I didn’t think it smelt. “I came from Emma’s”, I said pathetically. “Oh”, she sounded like it hurted her. “I’m sorry, it’s ju-“, I said before she cuts me off. “It’s fine”, she said, not looking at me. “Please hear me out”, I asked. When I looked at her I could see her eyes starting to water a bit when she turned. “okay”, she said. “She threatened you, if I didn’t give her what she wanted. She said she can ruin you”, I said softly. “You know I can handle myself, Emma is not much of a threat to me. I am the repetition of a ‘bad girl’. If I can handle fighting people, I’m pretty sure I can handle her. Also, I don’t care we’re not even together so it doesn’t matter.”, she said. It hurted when she said ‘I don’t care we’re not even together’. “I’m sorry”, I said softly. “It’s fine”, she said walking to the kitchen. I followed after her. She got herself a coffee and stood by the sliding door looking outside. I came up behind her and hugged her, she moved away. It hurted in a way I never felt before. 

I stood there doing something as silent as she was silent. She finished her coffee and she started to wash the cup. “I can do that for you”, I said. She kept washing it and dried it. She took a minute by the sink while I was by the sliding door. I wanted to know what was going through her mind. I know I hurt her, I can’t forgive myself for that. I keep making mistakes that keep hurting her. When will I learn? I also took a minute to myself but when I was done she was gone from the kitchen. I found her in Nick’s room. She was giving him advice on how to treat a girl, I guess he doesn’t really know. Nick was serious about his girlfriend. I wouldn’t be the one to give advice to him because look, I am already hurting someone I want to be with. I went to her room to leave them to talk. I sat on the ground till she came back. 

She came in after about 10 minute. “Are you sleeping over”, she asked. “Can I?’”, I asked. “Yeah, you can sleep on the bed since it’s better than the ground.”, she said with no emotion. “Thanks”, I said. She went to sleep while I stayed awake and thought about what to do. I came up with no clue. 

I woke up because I felt like a light was on. It was just a desk lamp at the end of the room being used. I felt an empty spot on the bed and when I looked at the desk, Aria was there. It looked like she was writing in her journal. I saw her putting it away and I saw her rubbing her eyes. Please don’t tell me she was crying. I heard a wimp and it sounded like she was crying silently, and that is the worst cry of all. I got up and went toward her. I hugged her, but she didn’t hug back. “I’m so sorry, but i’m here for you”, I said in a whisper. She pulled away. She went back to bed and I followed her. We both got into the bed and went back to sleep. 

I was woken up by Aria, she was already dressed. “I’m leaving early, get up you got school”, she said with no emotion. She just left. I got up and got ready, I kept some spare clothes for me at her place. When I got done I went to go to school, Nick was gone already and it was just me.

I saw Aria at her locker with the group. I went with them and put my arm around her, she didn’t pull away. When Axel, Mia, Jade, and Conner were in front leading the way to class, she removed my arm off of her. I just knew she was not feeling it right now. When we arrived at class, I tried to talk to her. The group noticed when Aria slept. She doesn’t do that in class. When the girls figured out, they looked at me. When they looked at me, it wasn’t pleasant. The bell rang, Aria woke up and walked straight out the school. She was missing the 2nd period. I was telling the group what I did. 

“What the f**k is wrong with you”, Jade said. “I thought I was protecting her”, I said. “Dude, she has hella s**t to deal with already. She can handle herself, look she fights. Also, she handles her f*****g emotions with punches!”, she said. I started to feel bad. “She’s going to fight more now, are you happy?. She f*****g hurting and you decide to do that. You said you were serious about her.”, Jade spat. “I know”, I was now loaded with guilt. “I can’t get a hold of her”, Mia walked back to us. “Dammit, she was doing well. She has her own demons to deal with. Has she ever told you about her nightmares?”, Jade asked. “No, what about them”, I asked. I wanted to know. She had her nightmares a few times with me. “Nothing”, Jade walked away so did Mia. We all went to class and after it was over we went to lunch.

“Where did you go?”, I asked Aria. She came in for lunch. “Out”, she responded. She didn’t grab lunch. “You want my lunch”, I asked. “I’m fine”, she said. She sat next to me, well I sat next to her. I saw someone coming to the table and it was Emma. s**t. “Hey baby, I like what we did last night”, she said. When she came I put my hand on Aria’s under the table. She wasn’t moving away from it, but when Emma started talking about last night she pushed my hand away. Emma was looking at Aria and smiling. “There is nothing going on between us”, I spat while standing up. “You sure, because that’s not what happened last night”, she cooed. She came and wrapped her arm around mine. When I tried to move away. She decided to sit in-between Aria and I. I saw Aria close her eyes and breathe deeply. “Don’t you guys think we are perfect for each other”, Emma asked the group. “Emma get the f**k away from our table”, Mia spat with venom. I was shocked I never quite heard her spat with venom. I smiled. “Don’t be like that”, Emma said. “Hey, Emma leave now or the truth will get out”, Jade smirked. “Whatever”, Emma was pulling me to get up and go with her but a voice stopped me. “Wait, you guys can stay here. You guys are perfect for each other. ‘King and Queen’ right Klaus?”, she said with no emotion while looking at me with full concentration and I knew she meant it because she was looking at me straight in the eye. She had no emotion in her eyes. “Aria, you don’t mean that”, I managed to say because my throat was burning. “Yes I do”, she said coldly. “no”, I tried to sound like I wasn’t going to cry but it sounded like I was about to. 

When Aria said that she got up and walked away. I caught up with her, “hey, don’t go please”, I asked softly. “No, I'm tired of this,'' she said, pulling away. I went in front of her. She stopped and looked at me. “Why”, she said. “I did it to protect you”, I looked at her. “Why did you do it if you were serious about me”, she still sounded cold. “To protect you”, I said again. We were making eye contact. “I understand that you did it to protect me, but it doesn’t change the fact that you went against your words”, she walked away after she said that to me. I went to my last class in a mood. After class was over, I made my way to her house. I’m not giving up. 

I was waiting and waiting, hours past by. I was wondering where she would be. I texted Mia and Jade, they were barely talking to me but they were trying to find her. She wasn’t at her street fight. She wasn’t at a liquor store. We couldn’t find her, until I heard footsteps. “hey”, I said softly. She didn’t say anything, she just went to unlock the door. She was going to go in and close it till she decided to leave it open. I went in and closed the door.
