Chapter 13

*Aria’s POV*

I made my way to my locker. I got to meet Ezra later today. I had to tell him my answer. I chose Klaus, what Ezra and I had is over. 

The past of Ezra and I was during Freshman year and summer. We had a hidden fling. We weren’t dating or anything, we were just casually hanging out and kissing. It was just that, we had somewhat called dates. It was like going away and eating somewhere. We spend most of our time. During the time with him, I was also seeing someone. It wasn’t cheating because he was with Emma and we weren’t together. The guy I was with has more stuff in common. He sang, wore black, and was really cute. He had to move because his mother got a job out of town. I was sad, but I had Ezra to fill in the void before we ended things before they got serious. When the summer happened with Ezra, he and I drank our sorrows away. When Ezra and I were drinking, we were talking about our family. We both felt like a burden and a failure. After that summer, he didn’t want us to be a thing because he was with Emma. I have nothing against Emma, it’s just she does. I think she knows, but I don’t care. 

I was walking to Ezra locker until I heard Emma's voice. “Who would want you?”, Emma spat at a girl who looked familiar. Oh s**t that’s Liv. We call her Liv instead of Olivia. “Me, got a problem?”, I heard Nick say. “Oh of course Aria’s brother! How’s your dad?”, she spat. I got heated and walked up. She knew about our dad.  “Hey Emma, how’s your cousin?”, I smirked. Her cousin and I had a thing, it was actually the boy I was with summer instead of Ezra. “You're a slut, you know that. First Ezra, my cousin, and now Klaus.”, she smirked. “OH yeah, well Emma it takes one to know one right?. I was thinking maybe you are because you were with Ezra and Klaus and also all the guys on the football team?.”, I smiled. People started gathering around Emma ‘insult’. Once they heard what I said, they started laughing. “You're a boyfriend snatcher.”, she said, crossing her arms. “Who said I was your boyfriend”, Klaus and Ezra said in unison. Ezra and Klaus had a little stare off. “Emma, I have to say, you're much of a beggar”, Klaus put his arm over me and kissed my forehead. “Bye Emma”, I said going to class. 

Emma and I were friends when we were younger. Her mother and father were friends of my father, so they know what happened.

I heard her yelling but I didn’t care. Emma is something else. 

“Why did you leave without me”, Klaus whined. “I had to meet with Ezra but Emma had to open her mouth”, I hugged him. I knew how he gets tense with Ezra. I didn’t want him to feel this way. “You know, you don’t have to think that you have to fight for me. I chose you and hopefully no one else. I want to be with you. Ezra and I are done.”, I said into his shoulder. “I know, love. I just have a feeling he’s going to keep trying.”, he said putting a stand of hair behind my ear. “It doesn’t matter, I’m with you and only you”, I said. “I’m glad, I’m with you”, he kissed me. “Me too”, I said, linking our hands. “Can you guys get a room?”, Jade rolled her eyes. Jade, Conner, Klaus, and I started laughing.

After school ended, I had to meet Ezra at the field again.

“Hey Aria”, Ezra hugged me. “Hi”, I broke the hug. I didn’t want it to mean something. “Have you thought”, he asked. “Yeah, and I thought what we had is over and I’m with Klaus now.”, I said straight forward. “Can we talk about this?”, he said in a low tone. I didn’t know he felt this way. “About?”, I was confused now. What we had over the summer was something that was in the past. “I’m not going to be like a rude boy who can’t get a girl who he wants. I’m going to be here for you and stay here for you. I’m not going to give up. I won’t let myself.”, he said while hugging me. I hugged him back, he wasn’t known for this. He was known as a heartbreaker and dating the ‘it’ girls. We stayed in this hug for more than we should’ve. “Why are you like this? You aren’t known to be this way toward girls?”, I broke the hug. “You’re different. You don’t throw yourself at me. When we talked during Freshman year and the summer, you understand where I’m coming from”, he stroked my cheek. “You’re amazing and better than all the girls here. You helped me so much over summer. I don’t want to lose you”, he added. This time he had his hand on my cheek. Like how in those shows the boy is going to kiss the girl. “I know, I don’t want to lose you”, I said softly. He got closer. I got closer. One of his hands on my hip. We got close almost enough for him to kiss me. “I’m with Klaus”, I broke the silence. We were staying in the same position but just leaning on each other's forehead. “I’m sorry”, I said softly. “No I am. I shouldn’t have”, he whispered. We stayed in this position for a while. “WHAT THE f**k”, I recognized the voice. It was Klaus. Oh No. “Did you guys kiss?”, he asked furiously. “N-“, he cut me off. “Were you cheating on me with him?”, he was fuming. “No, I didn’t kiss him. CHEAT ON YOU? I will never do that. Yes it may look like we may kiss, but we didn’t.”, I said. “Bro you, if you have a problem come to me not her. Don’t bring her into this.”, he spat at Ezra. “I’m not. Sorry. I’ll text you later Aria”, Ezra sighed walking away. “Yeah”, I sighed. 

I tried to walk away but Klaus caught up with me and grabbed my arm. “Can you stop”, I asked. I was rising with anger inside. I understand what it could’ve looked like but he didn’t trust me. “Do you still like him?”, he raised his voice. I raised my eyebrows in shock. He never raised his voice at him. “If I did, would I be with you right now?”, I raised my voice a little but it cracked. I was about to tear. Everything was overwhelming me. “Why would you let him that close to you!”, he raised his voice even more. He caught some people's attention. Surprisingly the group was by us. It looked like it was starting to rain. “We were just ending things. If you would’ve stayed you would’ve known.”, I yelled with my voice cracking. Sounding like I was going to cry. A tear came out of my when he snapped out. He started to look at me with worry. “I-“, he said but I cut him off. “You know what..”, I ran my hand through my hair. “f**k this”, I walked off. When I walked off it started to rain. What the f**k, always at the wrong time. 

“AARIA!!”, Klaus yelled. I kept walking away. “Hey Aria, stay please”, Jade caught up with me later Mia too. “Please”, Mia said. “I can’t stay here, I need to go”, I said. “I know, please it’s about to rain. You’re going to get sick”, Mia said sounding concerned. “Fine, Can you drive me to the alley?”, I asked Jade. She drove her and Mia today. “Yeah lets go”, Jade sighed. I knew why she sighed. I keep using my anger for fights. Since the deal with Klaus I fought once a week, I already fought this week but I don’t care. I hate doing impulsive things sometimes. “Aria, stop. Don’t go, stay please”, Klaus came to me. “I need time”, I managed to say while the girls were giving a kiss to their boyfriends. 

We got in the car, leaving the boys. About 10 minutes later, we arrived at the alley. I got out and took off my jacket. The girls came down and held my jacket. I didn’t care who was fighting, I just got in and got up. The guy who ran it nodded his head, he knew when I was angry and knew how I handled things. I have been doing this for a while. It was a girl who looked familiar but I couldn’t quite put a finger on it. “GO!”, the person said. ‘

She punched first, it made me fall to the ground but I caught my fall. My hands helloing my weight while my legs are about to get up. Something in me just clicked. I got up and punched the wind out of the girl. 

I punched her, punched a right hook to her jaw and jabbed her cheek. She got knocked to the ground. When I got a better look at her, she was one of Emma’s friends, Ava Vos. 

Couple fights later, I got tired. I got back to my house. 

I saw a figure in my bedroom window. I got in and ran up to my room. When I got there, I saw Klaus. I should've expected it. I sat all my stuff down and got my clothes for the shower. “I’m sor-'', he stopped after I closed the bathroom door. I got in and took a shower. 

When I got out, I thought Klaus would’ve left but he didn’t. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled”, he said walking toward me. “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have gotten that close to Ezra. It’s just we had a past and we are getting over it”, I said. “It’s okay, I should’ve known you wouldn’t have cheated on me with him. That was out of line.”, he apologized. “It’s okay”, I said getting in bed. “I’m tired”, I laid down. “May I?”, he asked. “Come on”, I laughed. Klaus got in my bed with me. “You’re too cute”, I messed with his hair. “You’re too beautiful”, he smiled. “You have quite a temper”, he smirked. “Yeah, we both have quite a temper”, I chucked. “Yeah, I’m sorry”, he hugged me. “It’s okay, Night babe”, I cuddled him. “Night, love”, he kissed my forehead. 

“NO…NO STOPPP!”, I yelled kicked the person in front of me. “YOU DESERVE THIS!!”, the man spat with venom. “YOUR A LITTLE b***h”, he laughed. He blindfolded me and pulled down my pants. “STOPPPP……PLEASE”, I pleaded for my life. “NO. STOP YOU LITTLE PEASANT”, he brassy spat. “NO.. NO”, I started to scream after. 

“WAKE UP ARIA, PLEASE”, I felt someone shaking me. I woke up panting and sweating. “It’s okay”, Klaus hugged me and kissed my forehead. “Why are your eyes red'', I asked. “You weren’t waking up, I heard you yelling. I got scared”, he looked so worried. I hugged him like my life depended on it. It meant so much for that. “Thank You”, I managed to say with the sniffling I was doing. “For what”, he asked. “For  caring”, I kissed him. He smiled. “Come on, let’s go back to bed”, he wrapped his arm around me. I cocooned myself in his arms.
