Chapter 5

*Klaus’s POV*

When I saw Aria with the cut, I felt so useless. She said it was an accident but I don’t believe it. I don’t like it. When Jade gave me the note, I couldn’t believe that her mother was doing this. She gets abused and still managed to do good in school, she’s a warrior and I like her so much for that. Her morals are what makes her so likable. She is going down a dark path and I don’t know what her dark path is. I know she drinks and doesn’t want to talk to me after what I did. It wasn’t worth it. To apologize and just to help her out, I paid her full year of rent and bills. To do that was like 1/30 because my parents are really rich. So it has it’s pros and cons. One of the cons is that they aren’t around much. It’s pretty much whatever at this point. I really am risking my reputation for her. I think the way I see Axel and Conner with Mia and Jade, they look happy. I want to be happy with Aria and I’m not going to stop trying. 

“You f****d up man”, Axel said shaking his head. He was referring to the text I sent Aria. We were in my room just talking. “Yeah,” Conner said. “No s**t, you don’t think I know that '', I said running my hands in my hair. “Look you don’t need to ruin your reputation for a relationship, if you like her then get her. You're the number 1 bad boy and she is the number 1 bad girl. Please tell me you understand that?”, Conner said. “Oh s**t you’re right, but I don’t care about reputation right now. All I want is her. I helped her pay her rent because she deserved it and she didn’t have money to pay it.” I said sitting up. “Is she okay”, Axel said. “I don’t know, her mom abuses her and she lets her keep Nick safe, her brother. Her mom left them for a year and expects Aria to pay a year of rent.”, I said in disgust. A mother really shouldn’t do that. That's completely f****d up. “Damn, what a b***h”, Conner spat. He isn’t wrong. “Can we help'', Axel asked with Conner agreeing. “I don’t know, the girls say she is starting to go down a dark path and I don’t know what that is. She drinks carelessly and I saw a cut on her arm. f**k, how am I supposed to help her if I don’t know what she is doing next”, I said. “I’ll ask the girls'', Conner and Axel left the room to call them. 

“They say Aria just did street fights. Apparently she did 4 fights and no blood was coming out of her.”, Axel said. “She got about $1500 from the fight, Jade said it was to pay you back”, Conner said. “s**t”, I said. “Apparently it is the street fight I know. I think I can make a deal for her to get the money but it’s going to be risky.”, Axel said. “What’s the plan?”, I said. “I can get a guy to pay her the year rent money if she does 3 fights and does 1 more fight but this one is bigger than Aria. If she can do this then she gets the money. Probably more if people bet money.”, Axel replied. “I don’t want the money back”, I said. “Yeah, I know. But if you were to agree to it, it can possibly stop her from street fighting”, he said. “You’re right, set it up”, I said. I know this is a bad idea. I’m going to have to be there extra if anything happens. “I’m going to head to bed”, I said. “Night, man”, Conner said. “Yeah, night”, Axel said while on the phone. 

They both have their rooms in my home. All of our parents are business partners, so pretty much their parents aren't home much either. It sucks. We have this home our parents bought us. It’s pretty big too. I got in my bed and texted Aria

Klaus: Hey Aria, Please let me in. Don’t shut me out please. 

Aria: Leave me alone. I’m going to pay you back, don’t do that again.  

*Aria’s POV*

I woke up, I was feeling a bit sore. It’ll pass. I got a call about a fight of 3 and I have to do another fight but this person is a bit bigger. I can handle it. I did some Martial Arts when I was younger, but that was about it. A year of rent money that easy, for that I know that the person won a lot and is betting a lot of money. The person is probably like that, who bets all their money because of their ego. I met some people like that. I also get more if the crowd puts money in. Hopefully I got this. 

“I got 3 fights and 1 fight but the person is a bit bigger”, I said while Jade and Mia on their phone. “Are you going to be done after that”, Jade sighed. “Yeah”, I said. “Aria please don’t do it after”, Mia asked. “It’s a way to get my anger out. I always remember, everyday. Do you know what it feels like?”, I said getting up. “You didn’t deserve that, it’s not your fault. You didn’t know what was going on. Quit blaming yourself”, Mia said. “Yeah, Aria please. we care for you. I don’t want you to get hurt.”, Jade said. “I’m still doing it”, I said while getting ready. “I put some cream where it was sore. “I’m skipping today”, I said. “Why”, Mia asked. “I have to get ready for the fight”, I said. “Alright, we’re staying too”, Jade said. Mia didn’t reject. “Can the boys come over”, Mia asked. “Yeah, I don’t care.”, I said. 

I started to do a little bit of each, push ups, sit ups, and some punches. My fight was going to be long. I know it is. Mia and Jade are coming so that is another issue. If it goes bad then they would be ‘I told you so’. I’m tired of hearing that. For the fight I have to be sober. 

I heard voices, I assumed it was the boys. I went down to get some water, I had on some tights/leggings and a black short top. On my way I saw Klaus. We locked eyes but I broke the contact. I went to the kitchen, he soon followed. “You’re fighting”, he asked. “Yeah, so I have to pay you back somehow”, I said. “I don’t need you to pay me back, I just wanted to help”, he said coming to me. “I am still, that was too much money. I have to pay you back somehow”, I said trying to get away from him. He grabbed my arm. “How about we think of something that you can do for me”, he said. “Alright, but I have to at least pay you half of the money”, I said. “Fine”, he said. “Come on up”, I said, leading to my room. The girls and the boys were in the living room. Nick went to school with Luke. 

“What do you have in mind”, I said. “I was thinking about you agreeing to go on a date with me”, he said smiling. “Yeah, no. We were going to sort of have one but you cancelled. Oh yeah, you also did it the s**t way”, I said getting on my bed. “I feel bad about that bit. I don’t know what else I can do, I’m trying.”, he said. “Okay how about you agree to that and we got a deal”, he said. “Alright”, I said. If it’s only half I have to pay then I will have plenty of money for Christmas. Despite what I am doing. Christmas is my favorite. I love it with a passion. “How about after your fight today, we’ll go get some food and the movies, deal?”, he smiled. “Okay”, I said. He got on my bed. I honestly don’t mind. Even though I am going off the edge, he is still hot. “Done checking me out”, he asked with a smile. “Yeah, Kai is still hot,'' I looked away. “Take that back”, he said. “Nah, I’m good”, I said. “Take it back or kiss me”, he said. I got up and kissed him, no way in hell I was going to admit it. Nah, I’m good. Kissing him is just a plus to be honest. 

I got ready to fight, I was warming up when I got to the streets. I saw the person. When they say a little bit bigger, they are a bit off. But I got this. I got done doing the 3 fights, it was pretty easy. Now it was the one last fight. 

I took a punch to my side and kicked my stomach, it hurted. In the end, I won. I got my bonus. I did have blood on my lip, but that was it. I had to suck up the pain and just fight. It was difficult but I did it. I got extra money from the crowd, there was some money that betted on me and on her. I won it all. Mia and Jade cheered and so did the boys, I looked at them and Klaus was there. He smiled and clapped. Everyone clapped. I hated the applause, so I collected the money and walked away. I was limping a bit but that was it.  “Hey wait up”, I knew it was Klaus. “Oh yeah, here is the half of the money”, I gave him the money. “Ready to go eat”, he said. I forgot about it but I needed the food. “Yeah, I guess”, I said getting in his car. 

We arrived at the cafe. “Are you going to stop fighting”, he asked. “No, I need the money”, I said. “Why, the rent is done”, he said. “For Christmas, I want Nick to have a good one. He deserves it”, I said shoving fries in my mouth. I got to admit, that fight was tiring. Klaus cleaned up the blood in his car that was on my lip. “I can give you some money”, he said. “No, no more money so stop that please”, I said. I don’t like to be given stuff other than Christmas. “Sorry”, he said. “It’s fine”, I said. We went to the movies after eating. We got a movie that was good but it was dead inside the room. There were like 5 people there but they were in the front. Klaus and I sat in the back. Both seats were together, so I didn’t mind. 

“You did good today, I’m proud of you”, he said. I don’t get compliments like that, it’s hard to process them. “Thanks”, I sinked in my chair. He picked up my chin and faced me toward him. “Hey, you're beautiful okay. I like you, I know I messed up but it was a mistake. I don’t care about my reputation. All I care about is you and only you okay. I don’t know how you are affecting me this way, we don’t know each other. I’m willing to give it a try.”, he said it in the most caring voice. I did the unexpected. I kissed him. He kissed back. He leaned back and put me over his legs. It was getting heated, his hand was roaming. I didn’t mind. With him, I didn’t care. We both parted and started watching the movie. The seats were like recliners so we can lay down and watch the movie. We both got the one that connects. Klaus and I laid down on the chair. I ended up sleeping in Klaus' arms. 

He woke me up when it was time to leave. He brought me back to my home. “Thanks for tonight”, I said. “Yeah, no problem”, he said. “Is there any way I can get another date with you?”he asked. “I’ll think about it”, I said. I walked in, greeted by Mia and Jade. “I’m going to check on Nick and sleep. 

“Hey Nick you okay?”, I asked him. “Yeah, Aria are we okay'', he asked. “Yeah we are. Klaus and I half the rent so it's paid for the year. Since Christmas is my favorite, we’re having a big Christmas!”, I said with joy. I was actually becoming happy. Will I still be happy or not? “That's cool, can we have a big thanksgiving too.”, he said. Thanksgiving was soon. I have to get my s**t together if I want to do this for him. “Yeah, totally. Alright you invite Luke and we have our own Thanksgiving.”, I said. “Aria, can I bring my girlfriend?”, he asked. “Yeah, for sure. Just let me know what Luke and your girlfriend likes to eat”, I said. “Alright, Thanks Aria”, he said. “Oh Nick”, I said. “Yeah”, he said. “I’m proud of you and I love you”, I said. “I love you too”, he smiled. I rarely say I love you to Nick and I’m going to say it more often. He deserves it. 

When I went to my room I had set up fights for the next couple of days. Around 5 fights a day that would be $1,500 and plus $300 for no blood. So if I do 5 fights a day for 5 days, that’s $7,500 plus no blood that’s about $9,000 in total. Plus the crowds money too. I have a tactic that should work for the fight for no blood. I just have to block every punch and punch them back but making sure it hurts. Most people back out when I punch their nose and a hook. That’s how I normally win. I went back to Nick's room and slid $2,000 dollars. He needed it. He saves his money, he is great at it. After that I went to bed.
