Chapter Eight: Modern Goddess

Safiya couldn't help but think about how crazy the world was in this day and age. There was technology, very different music, and the art was now put-on bodies instead of canvases. Safiya had a lot of fun with tattoos, she ended up getting several each one representing her previous lives. Her favorite one was the black panther she had on her back.
She loved this form of art, and as more time passed, she got really into putting ink on people as well. But as much fun as it was Safiya had responsibilities as a Goddess. The war she was trying to get brewer could be the next world war three. She was having a lot of fun whispering things in the ears of the politics and watching them push people further and further into the desire for chaos and anarchy.
Safiya was very sickened at how people treated cats, she was after all the Goddess of Cats as well as the Goddess of War. She had this crazy idea to one day let cats rise and wipe out the morons of the human population. But who knew if she would actually do it?
Safiya ended up spending time with her mother Vanessa, but most of her time was spent with Anubis, he taught her what being a God/Goddess really meant. Anubis had given up his role as keeper of the dead and God of the Underworld and had taken on a new mantle. Anubis was now the God of Destruction and he did his job well. He loved causing chaos, but he also knew that like everything there had to be a balance to everything that happened.
Anubis and Bastet got closer and closer, they went well together, and they did their jobs well. Anubis was a great teacher, he showed Safiya how to keep things balanced, how not to push things too far, but also how not to hold back. He taught her how to fight and how to protect herself using her powers. Safiya was a fast learner, and she did her best to be the best Goddess she could.
There were people who learned of her and began to worship her, she appealed mostly to the Gothic kids, she was dark and was very witch like but she had her good qualities. Many came to believe in her and with their belief her name began to spread further across the world. She was becoming a beloved Goddess, and with Anubis by her side she felt invincible. The other Gods and Goddesses all respected her once they realized she was a force to be reckoned with.
For several years that was how their life was, until the day things changed for Anubis and Safiya...
