1495 Words
Bastet had a big announcement to make, one that would change Anubis forever. After a romantic dinner and a quiet evening, Bastet decided it was time to tell Anubis the news. “There is something I need to tell you my dearest,” Bastet says as she lays her head on his chest. Anubis holds her close, “What is it Love?” Bastet looks at him and smiles, she takes his hand and puts it on her stomach, “I'm pregnant, you're going to be a father.” Anubis smiles, he can feel the vibrations of the baby's heartbeat, he hugs Bastet tightly, this is what he has wanted his entire existence even if he never realized it. He wanted love, a family and now he was going to have one. It didn't take very long for everyone to find out that Bastet was pregnant. Then he came. Zeus showed up one day when Bastet was about four months pregnant to talk to her. This conversation did not go as he wanted it to. After offering him a drink and them both sitting down Bastet waited for Zeus to explain why he was there. “I wanted to come by and remind you that after the birth of this child you will be expected to let Anubis raise the girl or boy for the ten years while you focus on your duties as a Goddess. That is the rule I have put in place that must be followed.” Zeus tells her. Bastet had experienced that as a child and she was hell bent and determined to no do that to her child. “What makes you think you have the right to tell me that I have to follow your rule. I may be recognized as a Goddess of Olympus, but you and I both know I am a Goddess of Egypt first and foremost. I am not going to follow that stupid rule. That's ten years I could spend training her to use whatever powers she has, why am I going to give that up just because you think I won't do my job.” Bastet tells him. Zeus was not happy with her response, “The rule is there to help the Goddesses keep from getting distracted not to punish.” Bastet shook her head, “If that was true Zeus then why has no God had to go through it. Just because your brother forgot his duties because he had children, does not mean that the rest of us will. I know what my responsibilities as a Goddess are and I have no intention of failing at my job. I will have my child, raise it and go my job as a Goddess, and not you nor anyone else if going to take that away from me.” The clouds shook with thunder as Zeus began to get angry, she was being outright defiant, and he was not going to have that. But there was something about Bastet that Zeus didn't know, something no one knew, and he was about to find out. Zeus raised his hand to her, but before he could touch her, Bastet emitted a black energy from her body, the force so strong that Zeus pulled his hand away. There was something different about this energy, it was dark, powerful, it was destructive. Zeus was even more confused when Bastet stood up and got in his face. She showed no fear as her eyes burned with a fire deep inside. “I will only say this once, and once only. If you try to keep me from my child, I swear I will burn Olympus, you and any other Gods or Goddesses that get in my way I will have no problem destroying. And to prove my point, let me show you my true power.” Bastet threatens him. Bastet reaches out and touches Zeus's face, and he felt it, pain, the feel of the pain and the destructive power made him feel something else he had not felt in a long time, he felt fear. She was no ordinary Goddess, there was something different about her, something deadly. Zeus didn't understand, how could she have this power, what was this power. Bastet stepped away and smiled after taking a seat, “I bet you're wondering what that was that you felt. You see when Anubis and I made love for the first time something happened. Everything shifted, our powers melded together and then formed into something new. Anubis was made the God of Destruction, which he still is, but by our souls joining, I inherited some of his power, that power along with the power I already have made me strong. But that's not what you felt, what you felt Zeus was the power I was born with. The power I have kept hidden all my life.” Zeus took a moment to compose himself before asking, “What power is that?” Bastet smiles, “It is the power to destroy and create Gods and Goddesses. You see fate finally decided to be on my side and give me a hand above everyone else. With a snap of my finger, you would be no more. So, that being said, you will leave me to raise my child, and any other children Anubis and I may have. I will not abandon them for ten years and you will remove that rule from all other Goddesses.” Zeus was not a fool; he could feel the power inside her and he knew she was not lying. So, after leaving he did as she asked, he removed the law from the Goddesses, and when the time came for Bastet to give birth, he made sure to not interfere. Her power was to great, even for him to contend with. Bastet and Anubis ended up welcoming into the world a beautiful son, a son that they named Zamadere Ankhat Catt. He was a headstrong child, and as he grew older, he learned from his mother and father. Bastet finally learned something, she could have it all and still be a Goddess. She had her husband; her son and life were good. When Zamadere turned four Bastet announced that she was pregnant again. After he announcement, her mother Bastet had something to announce as well... Bastet made the announcement that this child that Safiya/Bastet was pregnant with would be a girl, and she was going to be blessing this child with a gift. This child would rule in Bastet's place in Egypt when the time came. More importantly, this child's soul, would be the soul of the child that Safiya had lost in her first life. Bastet had promised Safiya that she would get back what she had lost, now she was holding true to that promise. Months later, when the little girl was born Safiya/Bastet cried tears of joy, especially when she realized that this was the daughter she had lost before. There was a recognition there that the child had with Bastet, one that could not be kept hidden. This was her child, and she had returned to Bastet. Anubis was happy, he had a son, and now a daughter. Anubis spoiled his children, as did their mother. Life was good and they spent years teaching their children the importance of being a God/Goddess. They taught them what was expected of them, and when the time came their daughter would take over for her grandmother. When the little girl, called Alania turned ten, Anubis had a surprise for Bastet. He wanted her to be happy, truly happy, and so he gave her the ultimate gift, for one day she got to see all the people she had loved in her previous lives. Her parents from Paris, her parents from Italy, her parents from Russia, her mother from Salem Massachusetts was already with them. It was like a big family reunion, of dead people. But Bastet loved and cherished it, even though it wouldn't last forever, this was her chance to truly say goodbye to them all. The one thing she never really got to do. After saying goodbye to her loved ones, Anubis made sure they had peace in the underworld. Their souls would have a good eternity, all because they were a part of Bastet. It was on that day that Bastet made a promise to herself, she would change things for people. Death was a means to an end. She wanted those who deserved it to live for eternity, so she began to lay out her master plan. She would give those deserving of its eternity, and those who did not deserve it would get death. Life was meant to be eternal; Bastet had the power to change the world and make it as she wanted it. She would make the world change... She would teach the world an important lesson, Love could be eternal...
