IRENE'S POV I was always certain that I am the pack's future Queen, after all my grandmother had foretold that. I was exhilarated when I heard the news, the King's family and the Angel Prince told me I could ask for anything I want as long as I accept to be the future Queen and the Prince's mate. Was that even a condition? The Angel Prince is the most gorgeous man I have seen. He got a perfect body and most breathtaking face. And who would refuse to be Queen? I suddenly had everything I wanted. People did what I asked them to. So I asked that my sister be made my servant, I hated her so much! While I wanted my sister to be fancy and outgoing, Sarah was always chubby and quiet. My friends didn't like her and I wasn't about to have her by my side when she always looked so lost. So I gave her the status I thought she deserved ...my servant. I was the happiest girl in the world until my eighteenth birthday. After having a great party which the Prince and his family attended, I went to my room late. I was trying to get some sleep when I felt a deep sharp pain and my bones began rearranging. I immediately knew what was happening, I was phasing! I couldn't believe it as I am supposed to turn into an angel when I get nineteen, according to my grandmother's prophecy. My good life was suddenly falling apart. I had to remain quiet so no one would hear that I was actually turning into a werewolf. It hurt but I had to bear the pain as if anyone knew, I would lose all I had gained. After I had fully phased, I heard my wolf speak to me. I snapped at her as I was so pissed. Because of her, I was going to lose everything. I told her to remain silent and never to speak to me or show herself when anyone was around. I quickly shifted back to my human form and put on new clothes. Right then, my sister stumbled into the room without even bothering to knock. Both I and my wolf got startled, I let out a growl! I couldn't believe that the first person to find out that I was a werewolf was my pathetic sister. I got so infuriated, smacked her silly face with the food she was carrying. But I needed to silence her, all I had to do was lie to my future mate and he would do my binding. My idiotic sister got five days in the Pack's cells which are riddled with rats. That taught her to keep her distance. If I resented her then, I resent her even worse now. She was supposed to phase three months ago, the day she turned eighteen. But so far, she got no wolf. I know there are many that phase later than their eighteenth birthday. But having lived under the same roof with my sister, I can't help suspecting that she is waiting for her nineteenth birthday to turn into an angel. To be mated to my Prince and become the queen. I can't let that happen, that dirty loser can't take my place. But before taking any measures, I want to confirm that my grandmother is certain that it's me she saw marry the Prince. How would it be me when I already have a wolf? Grandma will be attending today's party, it took the old woman two days to make it here, hope she hasn't come to disappoint me. My wolf has been relentlessly whining for the last few days. The i***t thinks we need to go find our real mate, says she can smell him close. If I know who that other loser is, I would have him decapitated! I can't risk running into some awful looking son of a peasant during my wedding party and having him claim to be my mate. My wolf growls in anger every time I think that. Can't she see all we have here? The r****h bedroom I sleep in? The deluxe dresses I wear? Because of her aggressive complains, I am having a hard time enjoying the parties. She dislikes the Prince and threatens to show herself and crawl at him whenever he gets too close to us. I have run out of ideas of taming her. There is a knock on my bedroom door, "Your Grandmother is here, My Lady!" I hear one of my maids, Doreen, call out from the other side of the door. I immediately jump from my bed, time to find out what exactly went wrong with my once sweet life. It's nice she showed up early, we will have time to talk undisrupted. "I take quick steps towards the porch where I know she will be waiting. I haven't seen her for five years. Since the day I was declared the future Queen, I and my family were moved to this magnificent house so I can wait until I get my wings and move to the palace. "You have grown so beautiful, My Lady! You look like the lovely girl I saw marrying the Prince." She sings when I get close to her. She stands and bows her head. I have no time for her little praises, I want to get straight to the point. "Yeah! Thanks! What I want is for you to tell me exactly what you saw, no opinions, tell me in detail what you saw!" I order in a stern voice. The woman seems astonished as she sits back down. "What has angered my beautiful princess? Is it your little sister giving you trouble, my little angel?" She asks in a sweet but straining voice. "I can handle my sister. Now tell me what I want to know!" I order. She raises eyebrows but speaks anyway. "There isn't much to tell about what I saw." She starts. "It was a very short, but I am sure it was you." "I said you give me all the details!" I snap as I am getting inpatient. "Yes my lady! It was a lovely wedding party, your parents were there as well as the royal family. You and the Prince seemed happy. You had beautiful wings?" She says. I feel a bit relieved. But why then do I have a wolf if I am going to turn into an angel? "Are you sure it was me? Did you see my face?" "I am sure it was you, but I didn't see your face clearly. The Prince was too happy and was spinning you round and round in his hands. Your face moved so fast that it became blurry." She answers. My heart starts thumping hard in my chest, this is beginning to turn bad. "If you didn't see my face, how do you know it was me?" I question. "It was your parents there, on the stage next to the royal family. The girl looked beautiful in her white dress, your sister never looked beautiful as far as I am concerned. She was a dull thing the last time I saw her." The woman says. I feel anger rise within me, tears starts to flow. I was planning to wear a pink, colourful dress for my wedding party, not white. And she didn't see my face? It could be anyone! And the fact that my parents were there means it could have been my sister. "The girl you saw could have been anyone! I want prove it was me!" I scream. "Who else could it be, dear?" "My pathetic sister! She never phased after getting eighteen but I did! And she is the one that likes white stuff!" I roar, I am barely controlling my mouth. "Oh! ...You phased?! You have a wolf!?" The woman asks, terror written all over her face. "Yes, and my sister hasn't. I would rather die than watch her be Queen!" I rant. The old woman in front of me seems like she is in shock. "The Prince will kill us! I have to tell him right away that I made a mistake." She says and my fists clenches. "Dare you say a word! I am the future Queen, no one is taking that away from me!" I roar. The woman freezes. "But the Angel Prince can't marry a wolf, you will not give him children! And once he knows the truth, he will punish us for lying to him." She points, as if I am too dump to know that. "He won't know the truth. He will never know she was his mate, not if I get rid of her. I will be the only option, he will take me as his wife, he loves me enough." I argue. "You would kill your sister?! That's evil!" "She is going to take away everything I value, what option do I have? I will not kill her, not directly of course, that would make people suspicious. What I need from you is silence. You say anything and I will have your old head cut off! I am the one the Prince trusts, he will never believe you unless he hears the truth from me." I speak with the most threatening voice I can manage. The woman has shrank into her seat, she nods in agreement.
