I’m in shock. I mean I always kind of knew Nicole was a little nutty, but schizophrenia? I was with her for 6 years and hadn’t the first clue. Either I wasn’t paying close enough attention or she was just that good at keeping it hidden.
“Are we talking about the same Nicole?” I asked. “I’ve never seen her talk to herself or hear claims of seeing things that aren’t there. Are you sure she has schizophrenia?”
Michael gave me a sympathetic smile. “She’s done very well on the combination of meds her doctors have her on, but lately she has been off. I suspect that she may have stopped taking them.”
