The car pulls up outside a large building, setting off butterflies within me. I hope agreeing to go to the party with Cobalt isn"t a mistake. Zelda was right in that Cobalt won"t let anything happen to me. Not that knowing it is helping much.
"You ready?" Cobalt asks, his hand on the car door.
I let out a nervous laugh. "If I say no, will it make a difference?"
"Of course. I don"t want you to do anything you aren"t comfortable with. We can go back to the compound if you want."
My heart swells at his offer. It"s sweet, but we both know I won"t take him up on it. "Won"t you get into trouble if you don"t go inside?"
