I turn the spit with the small bird Cobalt managed to catch. The fire crackles and hisses as the fat drips off. My mouth waters, but I know I have to wait longer to eat it. Especially because Cobalt isn"t back yet. I hate that I can"t go with him, but now we have a cave to shelter in, and a fire going, neither of us want to lose it, especially if it means no food. But that means I have to patiently wait for him to get back, hopefully with more stuff we can put on the fire. If we don"t eat and drink, we"re going to be in big trouble. I sigh and hug my legs to my chest. I hate that sitting alone here is almost enough to send me back to the horrible time in my life.
