Escaping The ChainsAs much as it was nice to be able to leave Maribelle on a happier note, one of the things that struck me the most while writing is how many people don"t get that ending. While I was reading a book about the psychology of murderers (so I can write murder mystery better, nothing weird), I read a chapter about women who kill their partners and, unsurprisingly, it focused a lot on situations like Maribelle"s - women who act in self-defence and kill because the alternative is to be killed.
