Chapter 13We walked the short distance to Mom’s place, and I filled the captain in on what I’d been teaching the children as of late. I opened the door to the homey scent of roasting beef. Mom grasped the captain to her, the young woman grimacing slightly at the pressure on her back, but gladly returning the gesture before kissing Mom on both cheeks. My mother laughed coquettishly.
