Chapter 14The Captain With a basket of leftovers from Helen on my arm I strode up the hill toward my place. I was angry, and realizing the reason for that anger only made me become further incensed. As I neared my cabin, Midnight saw me and came cantering up. He’d jumped the fence. Again. Stubborn thing. I left the basket of leftovers just inside my door, and climbed onto Midnight’s glossy back, the dogs danced about with anticipation.
