By Saturday morning, Irea arrived with Logan, my makeup artist, and Trina, my personal designer. They started their work, and soon, I was gazing at myself in the mirror dressed in a black shimmering gown that hugged my body on all areas, revealing just enough skin to turn heads. My neck was covered with a round shaped diamond that sparked, matching the earrings on my ears, and gold bangles around my wrist. I had on a black three inch heels with little silvers attached to it, then held a black purse where I kept all I might need to survive the event. Leo arrived on time to pick me up, and he first took Imogen to Rachel's place, before driving us straight to the venue, two guards following in a car behind us. When the car came to a halt, Leo got out and helped open my side of the door. He took my hand, and we both walked side-by-side into the hall. Our guards were asked to wait outside, as they didn't think they would be needed. The place was just as huge and beautifully decorated as expected of a billionaire. “I want to sit close to the door.” I said to Leo. “So we can leave when this gets tiring.” “You've not even seen how the event will go. Cool down, lady.” He joked, but still started towards one of the tables close to the door. I had no reason to, but my head tilted sideways, and there, sitting by the table a few feet away from mine was none other than Drex. He clearly hadn't noticed me at first, but then he turned and our eyes met. I felt something rise in me, but it was pushed back with a clenched fist. Of course he'd be here. I broke the gaze when he smiled, and instead just sat down comfortably. His presence wasn't going to change anything. And it wasn't like I hadn't expected such things to happen. I mean, living here meant more chances to encounter him, right? “You okay?” Leo asked as he sat beside me. “Yeah, why'd you ask?” “Well, for one, you look like you could punch me in the nose for bringing you here, and secondly, your ex is walking towards our table.” “What?!” I frowned, head snapping to where, truly, Drex was closing the gap between us. “Hey.” He greeted. “Do you want something?” I asked, keeping my voice at a professional level. “Yeah, I want to talk. Mind it I sit?” “They may say anyone can sit where they want, but that's not applying to you tonight.” “You don't even know—” “Don't you get a hint?” Leo kept his voice low to not draw attention. “She's clearly not interested, so just get back to your seat.” Drex stared like he was just noticing him, then his shoulders went tense. “Wait, you're the jerk that sent the papers? Who the hell are you?” Leo was about to stand up to snap back, when I placed a hand on his arm. There was no use for unnecessary drama. Especially not at someone's wedding. So, I stood instead. “What part of ‘I don't owe you an explanation’ do you not understand? Because I don't get why you're still here.” “Who on earth is this guy? Why is he with you? Why was he with you then?” He asked, voice dripping of a weird kind of desperation. Like he hoped it wouldn't be whatever he was thinking, and that just made me confused. “I don't know what's wrong with you or maybe you're just nuts, but stop it.” “Lisa…” “Listen, my reels are already filled with enough nonsense on Lisa Red spotted with ex, I don't need you creating another drama and only lengthening the time it'll trend for.” His eyes shifted to Leo for a second, before returning to me. “You've really not given me enough time. I have things I want to say, and I also have questions to ask.” I had to suck in a breath of patience. When I noticed a few people staring and already pulling out their cameras, I decided to quickly end this. “Alright, you have one question.” He frowned. “That's not enough.” “It's one question or you get the hell off my back.” It was clear that he wasn't pleased, but he nodded either way. “The guy… Who is he?” “I think you already know the answer.” “Well I don't want to believe what I think I know.” He muttered, staring right at me with a somewhat pleasing look. “Alright then,” I nodded, “believe it or not. Leo is my boyfriend.” Something fell on his face. An emotion I didn't think I'd ever seen from him. It was like hurt, mixed with a high level of sadness. And it managed to make my brows furrow. Drex nodded, then walked back to his table, while I stood there a second more, before I sat back down. “That's the first time you'll publicly call me your boyfriend.” Leo whispered with a teasing smile, but I noticed him stare over me to where Drex was now sitting with a glass of wine. “Yeah.” My eyes stayed on him for a while. The way his shoulders drooped, face fallen, and the clear pain in them. “You okay?” Leo’s voice pulled me back to him. “Obviously. Just remind me next time to not attend any event where my guards aren't allowed in.” He smiled a little, then took a glass of wine. “If you want, we could change our table.” “I'm not going to leave because of anyone.” “You sure?” “Leo, will you just drop it?” He studied me for a while, before leaning back. “Alright, I'll leave you to pretend you don't care about whatever just happened.” I glared at him, before taking a wine myself. What was suddenly wrong with Drex? If I remember clearly, which I obviously do, he had wanted me gone as soon as possible. He wanted nothing to do with me. So why this sudden change? Why was he suddenly wanting to talk to me? Was it because of my wealth? My success? Could that be the reason? I huffed lowly, because if that was true, then it only made him more of a jerk. I had to shake off the thought as the event started. It was hard, because I could barely concentrate on what was going on. And the fact I had to fight the urge to stare back at Drex only made it more irritating. When I couldn't take it anymore, I muttered to Leo, “Excuse me.” Before he could ask anything, I was already walking out of the hall. I needed air. A lot of it. So, I went to stay by the corner, retrieved a cigarette from my purse and a lighter, grateful to have brought it along. I leaned back against the wall, then lit the tip of the cigarette and took a long drag, releasing it to the air. Whatever was wrong with Drex, it wasn't my concern, but he couldn't keep doing these s**t and scattering my brain. I really wasn't sure if I wanted to be involved in any of that. With a second drag, I figured I felt a lot better, so I dropped it in a glass of water, before disposing it. Just when I turned, about to head back, a figure appeared in front of me, startling a flinch from me. My head snapped up, shocked. And there Drex stood, hair tousled like he'd ran a hand through it tons of times. His arm moved around my waist, pulling me close. “Lisa…
