ELOISE-
I lay there, my heart a shattered piece and my body a log of wood. There was nothing left for me; I had become the useless Omega they had always seen me as.
“Guards, grab her.”
I didn’t flinch; it was worthless. Sending me home seemed more comfortable than having to stay another minute with Matilda in his arms.
“I have a confession.” My eyes widened, my head rising almost immediately. His eyes lit up just like before, his strokes deeper and more sinister than before.
My chest began to ache, my body trembling as I sensed the abrupt danger looming in the darkness. There was not an enemy in sight, but I still felt it, the heart-wrenching smell of death.
“Eloise Saber was the one who murdered my father.” The air was filled with gasps, shocked expressions flying around. He let go of Matilda, walking towards me.
“Her thumbprint was found on the knife used for the murder. You could feel how hard I had cried knowing my lover had killed my very own father.” His face went all gloomy like it actually happened.
“You liar.” I spat, but the guards quickly shut me up with several slaps.
“She killed the Alpha, your father… she deserves death.” Chants began to fly in the air, the guards unveiling their claws as they prepared to execute me.
“Yes, she deserves death.” He gazed at me, a smirk on his face. “She’s definitely going to die.”
My heart began to race, my gaze layered on his tensed-up muscles. I began to fantasize about different ways I could escape, but knowing how weak I was, I would definitely die before even reaching the exit. I had been dragged in for murder by the person who forced me into it…
“But she wouldn’t die here, unfortunately.” He holds up a smile. “I have decided to forgive her for the peace of the pack and banish her, never to step foot in the pack ever again.”
“You can’t do this to me!!!” They began to hit me, shutting me up before I could say that which was etched on my tongue.
“My father taught me to forgive. It’s time to do so and let her live her life in the wilderness like she deserves.”
The guards bound me, my hands held tight between the steel metal of their armor. I tried to resist, but my legs could barely reach the ground to give me enough support.
“Goodbye, Eloise.”
…”Don’t you set foot in this pack ever again. Murderer.” The guard spat as he threw me out of the gates, locking it immediately. I banged my hands, severally, hoping they would come out and finish the job they had begun.
I had lost everything: my lover, my dignity, and my reputation had been tainted as the murderer of the most loved Alpha.
It was clear now that I had only been his plaything, his worker of doom, his rag to wipe off the dirt on his table. He didn’t love me; he had just made me carry out the work he couldn’t while still embedding me with fear and hurt with hopes of love.
My feet trembled as I walked into the forest. The sound of Matilda’s moans resonating in my ears as I walked deeper into the forest.
She had always been my solace, the one person who didn’t care about my status as a wolf-less omega or a human in a werewolf realm, as they called it. She had always been there for me, but she had taken my breath away when I needed it the most.
It wasn't a mistake; she had seen his pictures more often than she had seen herself in the mirror. Why had she betrayed me?
As I walked past the heart of the forest, the sound of breaking twigs and the rustling of leaves filled the air. They felt like lullabies whispering into my ears, “It’s all over.”
There was nothing to live for anymore; I was alone in this world once more with no one to laugh or smile with. My heart had been broken, my body dragged in the mud, and my soul hanging between life and death.
Maybe it was time I left this miserable life. Love didn’t exist in my world, and what’s life without love?
Finally, I got to the end of the forest. It was a huge cliff, and right beneath was that which awaited me, death. I could end it all here; jumping off the cliff would solve it all.
I stared down at the white fragments, which I recognized as broken bones. Someone had done this before… His life must have been just as dreadful as mine.
“Goodbye, Noah.” I closed my eyes, jumping into the air to propel my dive. I knew it would end sooner than I expected.
“Arghhh!!!”
My back arched against the rigid ground, a heavy weight lying right on me.
“Are you crazy? You could have gotten yourself killed.” A masculine voice penetrated my ears.
I opened my eyes to the sight of a male figure before me. He had dreadlocks, with beads attached to each of the dreads. His well-defined jawline staring down at me and his perfect blue eyes chanting my name.
“What do you care?” I pushed him off me, rolling away from his grasp.
“You almost jumped off a cliff right now.” His voice grew deep, his eyes glowing under the moonlight.
“It’s my life, not yours. I decide what to do with it.” I shot up. He chuckled, his legs closing the gap between us.
“You don’t own your life.” He reached for me, grabbing me by the arm.
“I’m not letting you take me to wherever the hell you’re going. Let me just end this empty life.” Tears rolled down my eyes as I shrugged his hands off.
“This empty life of yours has a purpose, and it’s with me.” His hands moved swiftly, sweeping me off the ground and into his arms. “From now on, you’re with me.”
