Adam pulled Lily up, her legs felt weak and heavy at the same time. Stealing a glance at her new husband, Lily plastered a smile on her face as he gave her hand another reassuring squeeze. They followed the woman down the hallway, the walls were lined with various photographs. There were smiling couples, holiday villas, sunshine and happiness. Lily sucked in a breath and stared ahead, ignoring the churning in her stomach. She reminded herself why she was doing this and how she was closer to her goal; the prize would soon be hers, she would have something for herself, something that was not tied to Leon and his family.
