Chapter 12 Nathan Patrick shows Pari the site Abby and Kawaii chose for their wedding ceremony. They are sipping morning coffee from pottery mugs by an open-air pavilion in the Moe'uhane preserve—"Moe'uhane" is Hawaiian for "dream"—flanked by the mountain stream heading to the Pacific Ocean and a large lily pond teeming with ducks. The sea breeze swirls around the trees, up and under the canopies, and through the nimble wind sculptures. Nathan, attired in a blue polo-cut shirt with the preserve's green, red, and yellow emblem, is an athletic and tall man in his late forties with curly brown hair. The jagged scar on the right side of his neck, which he makes no attempt to conceal, is a reminder of the nearly fatal attack he endured two years ago. Pari had solved that intricate mystery
