On the drive back from Laie, Pari receives an answer by text.
"Michael can meet us for a quick coffee between his appointments," Pari tells Katerina. "Can we swing by his clinic?"
"Michael?" Katerina asks.
"Dr. Blake."
"Haven't you met with him since your arrival?"
"There has been no time."
"Are you playing hard to get or just torturing him?" Katerina answers, grinning and looking at Pari with amusement. "I thought you two had remained in touch."
"I haven't spoken with him in months," Pari says.
