A Match Made in Heaven

Before I could say anything, a hearty laugh suddenly came from not far away. The group turned to see Xivier walking over. Fubong, Shui Xia, and Canaan immediately bowed upon seeing him: "Your Highness." Xivier casually raised his hand, signaling them to rise, then walked up to me with a teasing smile. "I didn’t expect you, a woman, to be so popular. You’ve already hooked up with the Black Dog? It’s rare that Taimir even went looking for you. Doesn’t he feel heartbroken knowing you’re engaged to the Black Dog?" As he spoke, he reached out and pressed his finger against my full lips, saying, "Does this little mouth hurt?" Fubong and Shui Xia stared at me in shock, then glanced at Taimir, observing his reaction. Taimir's face immediately darkened. "What, Your Highness, do you know everything about this kind of demon?" Xivier laughed. "I’ve often had some indiscreet maids secretly bind themselves to the Black Dog. When the contract is marked on their bodies, it gives off a very distinct scent. I can smell it from a hundred meters away. Very pungent!" He purposely leaned in close, his breath softly brushing against my face. I glared at him with annoyance. This guy was clearly enjoying the drama! "Indiscreet?" That was an outrageous accusation! If this was about me, it would be a huge injustice. I could even be poisoned just by being kissed by a woman, let alone getting involved with any dogs! Besides... I turned away and sniffed myself. I didn’t smell anything! Where was this so-called pungent odor from a hundred meters away? Seeing my reaction, Xivier couldn't help but laugh. Meanwhile, Taimir seemed to curl the corner of his lips slightly. Shui Xia, seeing this, stepped forward. "Leader, the emissary and the others already ate in the main hall earlier. It’s late now, and the cooks have gone to rest. I’ve prepared some small dishes. Why don’t you come to my room and have a meal?" Taimir came to his senses and gently touched her cheek twice. "Alright." He twirled a lock of her hair around his fingers. The warmth of his touch shocked Shui Xia, and she quickly lowered her head, her face flushed with heat. Taimir’s gaze sharpened. "You really are a pleasing sight." Damn! These two were truly a match made in heaven! Their chemistry was off the charts, practically glowing, making it impossible to look directly at them! I bashfully turned my head, and Xivier’s arm casually draped over my shoulder. "Since that’s the case, let’s find something else to do." I stiffened. Before I could respond, I suddenly heard Taimir’s cold voice. "No, my wife should stay with me, in case she gets abducted by a dog when we're not paying attention." Shui Xia froze, and her crystal-clear eyes were clouded with uncertainty. "What? Does the leader not trust me?" Xivier chuckled. "If anything, I’d say it’s more of a worry. I don’t need Your Highness to concern yourself with my wife." Taimir said, his gaze then falling on me. I shivered and quickly slipped out of Xivier’s embrace. "I appreciate Your Highness’s kindness, but I still..." I put my hands together, feigning an apologetic expression. Xivier gave a sly smile. "You’re not coming to my room anymore? Didn’t we agree on that earlier?" I was stunned. I couldn’t help but raise my voice. "When did we agree on that? You can’t just say things like that!" Xivier grinned. "We did in the afternoon. What a killjoy. I was really looking forward to it." I opened my mouth, but words failed me. Taimir grabbed me from behind, pulling me close, and squeezed my chin. "Well, in that case, I’m sorry to disappoint both of you." As he spoke, his grip tightened slightly. And so, I was reluctantly dragged into Shui Xia’s room by Taimir.
