The Werewolf Blessing Ceremony

"Cremation?" Taimir's brows furrowed slightly, as though he were recalling something. He continued, "If you truly don’t want to die, I can make an exception and hand you over to the soldiers..." Damn! This guy’s ruthless! I crouched down, deciding to sit. "In our country, we have a saying: ‘As long as the green hills remain, we don’t fear a lack of firewood!’ Since I’ll be your wife, there will definitely be many benefits in the future. Why not embrace it... heh..." Taimir raised an eyebrow, and I immediately lowered my head in guilt, wiping the cold sweat from my forehead. An hour later, the carriage finally arrived at its destination. As I lifted the curtain of the carriage window, a gust of cool wind hit my face, mixed with the scent of earth. The scenery here seemed impressive, but all I could see was a crowd of people. Taimir stepped out first, and I cautiously followed. As soon as we exited the carriage, everyone immediately knelt and bowed to Taimir. He walked swiftly through a narrow path, and I followed closely behind. My back felt a little cold, as it seemed... having a group of werewolves kneeling before me wasn’t exactly a good thing. After all, humans held a low status here, and suddenly becoming the leader’s wife made their gazes even more unfriendly. Each time I passed by them, it felt like cold, hostile eyes were piercing my back. Shuddering in fear, I hurried to catch up with Taimir. At the end of the crowd, two men stood out especially. One had bright, fair hair, and his appearance was exceptional. His attire was neat, and his posture very noble. These two men did not bow when they saw Taimir but waited for him to approach before they gave a slight nod. "Leader." Taimir nodded in acknowledgment, causing the air to tremble slightly. "Thank you both for your hard work on this journey," Taimir said. "Not at all, Leader. Your hard work is beyond comparison. Even the Wolf King himself can no longer doubt your loyalty," said one of the men, a younger one, his gaze quickly shifting to me behind Taimir. He gave me a once-over, then commented, "This lady is indeed beautiful, but not quite as exquisite as the one the Wolf King had gifted. It’s a pity. I hope this lady won’t make any mistakes in the next two days." Taimir glanced back, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly. "She’s sharp-witted and won’t do anything foolish." "Is that so?" The young diplomat paused for a moment, his gaze tightening as he stared at me. Whoa! This look is colder than snow! My back stiffened, and I gave a nervous smile, nodding at him. I instinctively edged closer to Taimir, trying to shield myself. Taimir, however, didn’t stop or slow down. He strode forward, and I hurriedly followed, sticking to him like glue. We soon entered a tree-lined alley. On either side of the path, the plane trees grew tall, their dark branches stretching out to form an arched canopy overhead, creating a Roman-style vaulted ceiling, with lush green leaves enhancing the straight path like a natural corridor. At the end of the alley stood the sacred site of the Red Wolf Clan—the Sky Spring Pool. The pool wasn’t large, but it was shrouded in mist, with a mystical, ethereal aura that made it seem almost like a fairyland. After we followed Taimir through a series of lengthy rituals, two maids stepped forward to help undress us. I froze and turned to stare at Taimir, horrified. "Are we going to have a naked bath together?" Taimir chuckled but didn’t respond. Instead, he shook his body, transforming into his werewolf form. His sleek black fur shimmered under the sunlight, and his muscular frame drew excited screams from the group of wolf women standing by the pool. I felt a chill. Damn it, he’s transforming again? I don’t have that ability! "Why do we have to do this?" I muttered, clutching my collar tightly. "During the immersion ceremony, werewolves need to return to their original form to prevent any impurities from contaminating the sacred waters of the pool," Taimir explained, stepping in front of me, his imposing figure making me feel tiny in comparison. "But... but I’m human. I can’t transform," I said awkwardly. "Then just take off your clothes," Taimir said without hesitation, moving to undress me. I couldn’t resist, and in a few swift motions, I was left in only a slip. "Is this enough?" I looked up at him, nearly pleading. Taimir hesitated for a moment, then—thankfully—left me the slip. We stepped into the pool. The water of Sky Spring Pool was crystal clear, almost transparent. The moment I stepped in, I felt a strange tingling sensation spreading throughout my body, making my pores open. The water is freezing! I shivered, sneezed, and immediately, the werewolves around the pool began muttering in displeasure. Their glares were sharp and venomous, as if ready to tear me apart. I quickly covered my mouth. Damn it, not even allowed to sneeze! But I had clearly seen Taimir cleaning his ears earlier. This is blatant racial discrimination! Fuming, I glanced at the side, only to meet Taimir’s cold stare. He beckoned me over with a finger. What for? Only a fool would go... I turned my head deliberately, refusing to look at him. Immediately, the werewolves at the edge of the pool started muttering again, whispering amongst themselves. My forehead tightened. Finally, I obediently stepped over to Taimir's side. Taimir locked his arms around me, surprisingly holding me tightly. "Don’t even think about dying on me." I pushed against his chest, trying to shove him back. "Die? What’s the point? Isn’t this the blessing ceremony?" I looked around and noticed the werewolves, each holding a small, delicate transparent vessel. The vessel shimmered with light, but the contents were too faint to make out clearly. "What are they holding?" "Shh." The werewolves crouched down, gently pouring the glowing substance from the vessels into the pool. Instantly, the water began to change color, as if it had gained life, rippling in waves that slowly moved toward us. As the ethereal-colored water reached me, an intense, burning pain shot through my entire body, causing me to shudder violently. It felt like my skin was being scorched by fire, yet beads of cold sweat formed on my forehead. "It hurts!" I cried out, suddenly rising above the water, trying to escape. But Taimir’s arms held me firmly in place, forcing me back into the water, his grip tightening, making it impossible for me to struggle free. Around us, the werewolves’ muffled laughter and whispers filled the air. Taimir’s eyes remained calm, and his body seemed unaffected. He glanced at me, then looked at the werewolves at the edge of the pool. The two diplomats stepped forward, pouring more of the glowing substance into the pool, causing the water’s surface to shimmer and shift unpredictably, the ripples resembling flying petals or shards of gold, incredibly beautiful.
