Chapter 7 ALICE GAVE me a few places and names before I escorted her next door and handed her to her friend Ceren, another young teen with bright blue hair. Before, kids dressed outlandishly to assert their independence. Ceren was alone now. I couldn’t imagine who or what she was declaring independence from.
