Chapter 34 I SPUN so quickly my elbow cracked on the steering wheel. Pain flashed down my arm, and white sparks flickered in the edge of my vision. A boy in his late teens peered in the passenger side window, bent over, hands braced on his knees. Neatly combed black hair hung over his right eye, but the left side of his scalp was shaved to fuzz. Silver rings shone in his nose and left ear. I smelled hot peppers and too much chocolate body spray. At my movement he stepped back, hands raised. “Hey!
