“THANKS FOR SEEING ME Deputy...or is it Officer?” “Just call me Alex.” He took her offered hand and shook it. “I retired as a patrol sergeant from North Zanesville and left all that formal stuff behind me.” “Okay, Alex. You can call me Andrea. And, you can probably guess why I’m here.” “I imagine it’s about that Morelville murder. ‘Lot of that going around.” “The Tanner Mathis case, yes.” “Coffee, Andrea?” “I’d love some, thanks.” He led the way into his kitchen. She took a seat on a plain wooden stool at his center island while he poured coffee from a freshly brewed pot and handed her a cup. After he set cream and sugar down in front of her, she thanked him and started in with her questions while he leaned into the island opposite her and doctored his own cup with a little sugar.
