Mandy felt miffed at being so summarily dismissed. She looked from one man to the other for any sign of weakness that would allow her to stay in their company. They both smiled benignly at her, stopping just short of patting her on the head and treating her like a precocious child, before turning and beginning a conversation which clearly excluded her. With no other choice she strode off, her heels clacking on the tiled floor of the lobby.
