He looked as if he were being torn apart.
I could smell the chaos—panic, denial, and anger, all tangled together.
"You… really intend to break the bond?" His voice was strained, brittle.
He didn't believe it. He was waiting for me to back down. But when I met his gaze, there was nothing—only coldness. I glanced at the time.
"The Council Enforcers are almost here." I looked back at him, expression unreadable. "Instead of worrying about that, maybe you should be concerned about your… 'candy' and your mother."
