The moment those words left her lips, Cassius's aura jolted violently, as though something had struck him.
"She knows you don't love her anymore," Amelia continued, clearly not intending to let him off the hook. "But do you know what's most ironic?"
Amelia's lips curled into a cruel smile. "You were the one who pursued her, remember? Love at first sight. You couldn't live without her."
She closed the distance between them step by step, her voice low, yet cutting like a knife.
"She wanted to be a doctor, you know. For you, she changed her major. For you, she defied her family for the first time. For you, she agreed to live as a Luna—hidden away, in the shadows. For you, she fought for four years—just to get your parents to accept her. She gave everything to love you.
