Maeve’s POV The leather seat of Maddox’s car felt heavy after the long hours at the studio. Outside the tinted glass, the city lights blurred into lines of gold and red as we left the business district. We turned onto the quiet gated roads that led toward the hills where the Vance estate sat alone. Maddox kept both hands on the wheel, eyes fixed on the road. The silence between us was quiet.
