THIRD PERSON'S P.O.V.
Starting a new year on campus, Kathleen had conjured up multiple scenarios on how the year would turn out to be. Boring? Thrilling? In-between? Invisible? Perhaps. What she wouldn't have ever imagined would be purposely skipping lectures and avoiding a certain professor due to the fact that she was gradually developing unexpected lust-filled feelings. Oftentimes, she'd find herself wondering if he was simply being nice. Or perhaps there was something more to it? She couldn't tell; after all, she hadn't necessarily had any reason to have any sort of relationship with my lecturer aside from academic purposes. But then again, not every lecturer had asked her to accompany them on a date or shared a bit of their life with her. So here she was, hiding out in the library and avoiding a certain lecturer who had plagued her thoughts for a few days. What was it he had said? Ah yes, he had liked spending time with her and would love to do it again. f**k no, it was bad enough that she had to see him every week in classes; she couldn't bear being in close range with him.
Her thoughts drifted back to him, to how he'd speak so eloquently and with an air of confidence as though he was in charge. His scent had her whole body reeling with nerves, goose bumps rising on her supple skin while she wanted nothing more than to be soaked in him. It was maddening; oftentimes she'd catch herself spacing out, simply staring at his lips moving while he taught, only to get red-faced in embarrassment when he'd catch her staring, the corners of his lips lifting subtly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He enjoyed knowing the effect he had on her, smelling a tinge of her essence, which would leave his beast unsettled. Craving her taste, to mark her as his. Xavier was a master when it came to control, but with her he seemed to be a pup who had just newly gotten his wolf. He couldn't imagine what it'd feel like when they had claimed each other.
And right now was proof of how little his self-control was as he watched from the shadows, unable to be away from her for so long. She was avoiding him; that much was clear from the way she'd quickly avert her gaze whenever their eyes locked. Or how she'd 'sneakily' walk the other way or lower her head, trying to go unnoticed whenever she noticed him approaching from a distance, thinking he hadn't seen her. Oh, how wrong she was. Right now, she was hiding away at the end of the library, hidden away by shelves, while her gorgeous red hair fell at both sides of her face; she'd occasionally tuck strands of her hair behind her ear, lost in whatever she was sketching. The smile that was on his face fell when he saw a shaggy blonde-haired dude come up to her before sliding into the seat before her. Xavier watched in annoyance as they conversed, while she'd giggle at what the i***t would say, clueless to what her innocent gestures did to her silent stalker. A cruel smile played on his lips as he imagined bashing the fucker' head against the floor, watching his blood soil the ground while the life drained from his boring eyes. But before that, he flailed him with his claws, enjoying his screams as he begged for mercy for touching what was his. A low growl escaped him when he saw Kathleen playfully touch his skin. She was his, not that dumb-headed f**k's. She's supposed to smile at him alone and touch him alone. Unable to remain there any longer in fear of what he'd do if he kept watching them, he stormed out of there, claws extending and retracting as his anger simmered.
Kathleen sighed for the umpteenth time, beyond bored out of her mind as she doodled away in her sketchbook, occasionally glancing out the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the litter of students just doing their thing. Lexi has asked to meet up much later in the day, as she had classes and a few errands to run. To make matters worse, she didn't have a shift today, and she barely had any friends, which left her alone often times. Suddenly, she felt a presence behind her, the being's breath fanning her ear before a voice whispered, "Boo," causing her to jump in fright, clutching her chest.
A small smile pulls across her lips as she looks at the familiar face. "James, hey. What are you doing here?" She asked, slightly tilting her head to the side, watching as he slipped into the seat before her.
"Would you believe me if I said I missed you?" He grinned boyishly, raising his brows at her, causing her to giggle, shaking her head.
"Awwn, I'm flattered, but no. So spill." James blew out a dramatic, exaggerated breath as he relaxed into his seat.
"I was supposed to meet up with a friend who goes to this school, but he got held up. So I decided to hang around when I saw you sitting by your lonesome. Aren't I the sweetest?" Kathleen squinted at him, leaning forward, waving her pencil at him.
"By friend, you mean..."
"Boyfriend." He admitted, a slight blush tinting his cheek.
"Thought as much. You know, I really do want to meet this boyfriend of yours, given the way you speak about him almost all the time. Don't mind if I steal him away if he's half as handsome as you are." She teased, winking at him, causing him to chuckle. Taking her hand in his, he patted the back of her hand softly.
"Ayyy, you're going to make me blush. Not to worry, my sweet pea, I'm going to match you up with someone real good. Someone who can take care of you real good if you get my drift." He smirked, Kathleen's face reddening in embarrassment.
"James." She groaned hiding her face behind her palms. Her reaction only amusing him further until his gaze switched to her sketchbook.
"By the way, what have you been sketching? Lemme see that." He grabbed it before she could decline. "Woah, this is gorgeous. Girl, you've got talent. But why a wolf, though?"
Her brows scrunch in confusion. "Huh? What are you talking about?" Taking the book away from him, her breath caught in her throat as she actually looked at what she had been drawing mindlessly. Truly, it was a wolf. But that wasn't what scared her. It was the fact that the wolf felt so familiar, especially its eyes. Eyes she'd seen somewhere, eyes that haunted her. In that moment, something caught her attention from the corner of her eyes. A blur of a person leaving the library, the door shutting harshly behind them. A shiver ran down her spine, a feeling she only got when she was with him.
