Chapter Nine

Catherine With my eyes closed while sipping my wine cooler, my hearing grew stronger. The party slowed down and got quiet a few miles away from where I was sitting. I could barely hear the music as the birds started chirping. The moon was settling down for the sun to rise, dawn was getting closer by the minute but I wasn't tired at all. A sound behind me startled me to open my eyes seeing Anna running fifty yards near me heading to the river. In heels she ran pretty good, still mad at her for keeping Brad a secret and talking behind my back, I stayed where I was hoping she wouldn't see me. Hours passed since she left me to go sleep with Brad, I doubt she even cared that she left me all night by myself even though we only came to this to get my mind off of John leaving. She suddenly stopped as she heard my quiet but not so quiet gulping, trying to finish the wine cooler before walking the five miles home. Psh! it's more like twenty but hell I won't remember half of the walk anyways. I quickly got up as she approached. "What are you doing out here?" she asked through her hiccups wiping her eyes as fast as she could. "hmm um wondering where my best friend is because obviously she's not currently here. Have a good one!" I exclaimed walking away from her. "Catherine, wait! What's wrong?" she asked getting defensive. "What's wrong? You tell me Anna Deykhausen? Is that what your names gonna be from now on?" I asked sarcastically continuingly walking away from her. "What does that mean Catherine? Stop walking and talk to me, would you?" she asked grabbing my hand which I pulled away from her. "Hmm let's see, secrets your keeping, but gossip you spreading? Ring a bell?" I asked getting mad. "What secrets? What gossip?" she asked quietly as her head began dropping. "secret between you and Brad, the gossip you both were talking about me. We are best friends yet I am barely important to you." I said with hurt in my voice. "How do you know about that?" she asked quietly. "Anna you left me for three hours so I got worried only to find you getting dress with Brad after presumably having s*x?" I questioned. "Yea, we do have s*x but there's nothing there anymore since he basically called us off when we graduated." she said dejected. "Really? So tonight was just what? His last goodbye?" I asked skeptically. "Basically, since in a few months I will be heading to state university." she said as she sat down where she was standing putting her head in her hands continuing to cry. I got on the ground with her and out my arms around her hugging her. "Shh, it's okay Anna, if he doesn't go public with you then he's not worth it." I said with assurance. I heard her sign as her arms wrapped around me to hug me too. We both stood up helping each other to her car which is where we stopped. We both looked at each other questioning each other. "I am tipsy so not me." I stated going to the passenger side. She sighed and went around to the driver side. "I didn't even get a damn beer, I was just his s****l output for the final time." she said rejected. I laughed which got my shoulder smack. I looked at her then we both erupted into laughter. "So how badly did he use you as a s****l output?" I asked with laughter in my voice. "Well it got pretty good then rough then rougher and more good then dangerous!" she said blushing bright red. "Does he hit you?" I said wiping the smile off my face. "Oh no, he's not abusive! He asks to go harder and knows that If I say no then we are done with whatever was going on." she assured as she drove back to town. "Do you wanna stay at mine?" I asked as we went by her place. I looked over to her and saw her nodding her head with tears in her eyes. For some reason Brad didn't want to be with her shocked me, perhaps it was because they were so madly in love with each other that it surprised me. We both walked into the house and sat down on the couch. "Explain will you Anna?" I asked as I settled in for the story. "We started flirting in sophomore year, which lead to that summer when we first started having s*x casually. He decided four months ago after winter break that we were going past this summer." she explained as she covered herself with a blanket. "But why? He's in love with you!" I exclaimed shocked about what she was telling me. "Because when he said that I started dating other people, which got him jealous. He had enough when I started fully dating that guy up in De Moin." she explained. "What are your feelings for him?" I asked as I leaned on the back of the couch, putting me feet up under by my butt. "I love him too but girl I don't know if I can keep up with him sexually!"She squeaked out as she started blushing. "What the hell does that mean, Anna?"I asked laughing. "He has this disorder that physical touch make him turned on and gives him hard on all the time! Even a feather will give him a turn on!" She laughed as she tried to be serious. "Holy s**t!" I yelled laughing as well. After a few giggles from both of us we started straight out laughing. Once she caught her breath my laughing got her laughing again until she started hiccuping the I smothered my laughs so that she could continue. "He's had it since puberty but he never acted on it until sophomore year. Apparently I was the first for him but I highly doubt that!" she said upset thinking about it. "He was your first though right?"I asked curious about it. "Yup, first and only guy I have ever slept with." She explained. "Really?" I asked her in disbelief. "What? You don't believe me?"She asked concerned. "Well I don't know I just thought you liked to party, that's all."I explained. We both settled in as she started her story, only being a week since John left it seemed like a million years with all the new developments.
