John
Flying came natural to me but to Blake it terrified him. He shaked uncontrollably in his seat not even noticing Jake putting a parashute bag on his back. He went through exercises that shouldn't prepared him for this mission. We were almost arriving at the undisclosed location because we stopped going forward and just hovered.
"Go time people!" the pilot yelled.
Dale grabbed Blake and pushed him towards the drop door on the side of the air craft.
"You need to jump son! There's no going back!" He yelled as he pushed past Blake and dropped out throwing the middle finger back at the three of us.
"Just remember your training Blake, you'll be fine!" I yelled as jake and I dropped as well together.
Once we got air borne we payed each other to get distance between us. It was pitch black except the light that came off the Helicopter.
"Middle of Bum f**k Boonies!" I yelled at no one particular since all I could hear was the wind wuishing by me.
"f**k No!! Blake yelled as he fell fast beside me.
Dale saw him freaking out so he reached his arms out to catch Blake. Dale bear hugged him then pulled his ropes to deploy the parashute, almost hitting jake in the process. The rest of us safely deployed out chutes a few miles to the ground. We had to come in fast discreetly, without drawing attention from the natives. We landed in water which meant that it was the ocean. I surfaced and started to tread water as I saw in the moon light Blake falling above me. I quickly dove down and swam a distance to get from his chute. Our chutes disengaged from their packs as a floating device popped in the water holding both us and our chutes at the surface.
"We need to follow the moon until we hire sand!" Dale yelled over twenty feet away from Blake and I.
The four of us started swimming until our legs started hurting from exhaustion. It must've been an hour of swimming before we all started feeling sand beneath our feet. It must be a island completely off the grid because there was no lights showing that there was electricity. We all got out our water proof flashlights to show a massive island.
"Dale where are we?"I asked as I sat down taking off my wet shoes and socks.
"We are behind the lines of our enemies, there's inhabitants here protecting something that the nation wants or needs, we have no idea what but that is why we are here. We need to make a fort like area and explore to find what it is.The bosses only want us to build this fort but we will not, half of us will build while the other half adventures." Dale explained taking off his shirt and pants along with his wet suit.
This was gonna be a long six months to survive and depend on only three others with no help. No way to send any more letters to show to Catherine that I was still alive and okay. Lordy, we have a long way to go starting out with nothing to end up completing our mission.
"Let's find a place to rest our heads for the night, when the sun rises we will find a place to start near fresh water, if there is any."Dale said as he walked away.
We all followed him more inland as the loudness of the forrest beckoned to us. This little island seemed to have a life of it's own. Blake seemed scared on the island, he wouldn't last long if he was by his lonesome.
"Let's settle here guys. Blake and Jake gather firewood while John and I gather materials to make a bed off the ground." Dale stated as he started walking away.
I followed him leaving the others looking at each other.
We walked until we found ourselves back on the beach. I looked questioning at Dale wondering why we backtracked.
"Being here will take all of us doing the most we can but the others mustn't know why we are here for."Dale whispered.
"Why them are we here?"I asked quietly.
"We are needing to get past the locals to get to caves on the northern part of the island. They're protecting something that the General wants."Dale confided.
"What is it?"I asked confused.
"It is a totem that apparently when in possession will take you back into time"He explained.
We walked back but not before cutting down a dozen medium trees that we placed on a tree making a bed for us guys to sleep off the ground. We all gathered around the fire before Dale offered to be the lookout for the night. Jake, Blake and I curled in the wooden bed to calm our minds to get to sleep.
