Alex screamed. He didn't like having visitors at all, most especially, now that he can't even hide his pointed ears. He thrashed on the floor and began to hyperventilate. He just wanted to be free and out of pain but the dark curse won't let him be. He didn't even know if the medicines he's taking were working at all.
Elmira and Elrohir had to quickly go to him, hold him down and place him on a magical long sleep wherein they can monitor him better and prevent himself from creating a gem-like cocoon that could kill him.
"Bathalla!" cried Elmira. "God of all gods, make him sleep. Astar verna, somnum!"
Alex closed his eyes after that, and he stopped thrashing. Even so, the curse continued to make him suffer.
They both already tried their best to heal him and also, when his hands glowed black, they knew that the curse had scattered.
His father and friends began to cry again after seeing his very unstable condition and that's when they realized that he needed a lot of alone time.
Elrohir sighed. "We'll have to take him to our realm, Lord Normandy. He cannot be treated with simple magic and potions. We can't let it go any longer. I believe we should find a more drastic but a safer path to Kingdom of Silvia."
"We will understand your reasons why he has to go with you," Normandy told him. "Take him if that's the only way to save him."
Elmira bowed his head. "Thank you, my lord. We will do our best to save him. He will survive, sir, and we will make sure that he will come back as a better man."
"When will you take him?" Anastasia asked. "Can I go with you? I want to make sure that he will really be in the elven realm!"
Elmira and Elrohir stared at each other in shock. They don't know who she was but she truly seemed to like the prince.
"Care to tell us why you want to go with us?" Elmira asked her. "He's considered a prince in our world and even if you are human, if you are in our world, you will have to keep bowing to him."
"There's no reason to tell you," Anastasia answered them. "Alex is my best friend. Most of all, I have magic the same as him."
Elrohir sighed. "Magic of mages can never be compared by the ability of elves to manipulate the power of nature and make it their own. The atmosphere of that world isn't like the Earth that you know."
"I don't care!" Anastasia cried. "I want to be there!"
"He will recover, right?" Normandy wondered as he was holding his son's icy cold hands tightly. "He's become so thin and he hasn't eaten for days! Would he survive the trip to the kingdom of the elves?"
"It will take some of my strength but we have to make do and create a huge portal instead," Elmira answered him. "We have make sure that the future of our kingdom is safe. He's still our Royal Prince, sir. Our duty is to make sure we bring him back home safe and sound."
Normandy was still very much surprised by how they address his son. "It sounds like... It does sound like... Are you saying...?"
"Are you going to be Queen Josephine's distant relatives or our ally against her reign?" Elrohir asked while Elmira began to create a blue portal next to Alex's bed. "We need to know your decision before we go and if we can trust you."
Lord Geralt sighed and a few moments later, he glanced back again at Alex who was still grunting in so much pain while he's lying in bed. "Josephine's my distant cousin and she took the royal chair all because she does have power that we are all afraid of, most of all, the resistance happened after she killed my first cousin, Prince Johannes. She knew that after he's dead, the crown will fall on her."
Elmira smiled. "Thank you, Lord Geralt. We will continue to help you in the resistance and you shouldn't worry no more since we will make sure that the prince will regain all of his strength but you should expect that he would..."
"His appearance will change indefinitely, wasn't it?" Normandy sighed. "He had to become an elf using magic to survive, am I correct?"
Elmira breathed deeply before she answered him. "His appearance will be the only thing to change, sir, but his relationship with you will never change. He will stay as an elf-human no matter what. Due to the human blood in his veins, he could only faint slightly but he would never have the same glow as us."
"Can we come with you?" Lord Geralt asked. "Was it possible for me to meet the Queen of the Elves?"
"The portal is already open, Elmira," Elrohir said to her. "We have to go now."
Elmira nodded in understanding after she saw the blue portal shining a few meters away from them. Elrohir carried the sleeping, sick prince on his back and with Lord Normandy's approval, he entered the portal.
"Lord Geralt, you have to stay here. You stated your position to us, and now, this is your realm. As this is your realm, you have to lead it," she said to him. "This resistance tower is now in jurisdiction of the elves! Queen Josephine would not want to suddenly scream war against us because she knows that she can't yet find a way to destroy us."
"I understand," he replied. "Take care of my grandson well."
"Anastasia and Lord Normandy has to accompany us in the Kingdom of Silvia," Elmira told them. "Queen Victorina wants to meet them in the Kingdom of Silvia."
Anastasia smiled. "Thank you for letting me come with you."
"I'll try to find a way to tell you what had occurred in my wife's origin country," Normandy said to his father. "See you in the near future. I will be sure to tell everything now to my son after he recovered."
"Our fight against the empire had just started, son! With their attack on your son, I am sure that the queen of Silvia will be enraged," Lord Geralt exclaimed. "Alexander Peters may have elf blood but don't forget that he's still your son. Love him no matter what."
"We have to go now before the portal disappears," Elmira reminded him. "We have to go now, sir."
Normandy gave his silver cross to his father and after that, he slowly entered the portal after Elmira entered just seconds later.
...
Days after Normandy had left to go to the Kingdom of Silvia to heal Alex's curse, Geralt fell in his knees and at the same time, he realized that the resistance tower had always been protected by the elves for years after he looked up at the sky again as he realized that there was a huge magical dome in the sky.
"Forgive me, Queen Josephine! Betraying you wasn't what I wanted to do but this is for my family," Geralt cried while he also clenched his fists tightly. "My only grandson's an elf and thus, I have to protect my son and my grandson against you. You cannot kill them... I will never allow you to destroy them! They are my future... They are my family...!"
At the same time, Jane added, "Thank you for choosing to go against Queen Josephine, my Lord. At least we know that there's someone in our country who truly cares about peace."
"Why are you here in the resistance tower as a healer, Jane?"
"My father and my mother were once Royal Healers but they died when they refused Queen Josephine's command to poison Prince Matthew a decade ago," she answered him. "He was my lover and we supposed to marry that year. He was killed while my parents were removed as Royal Healers. They thought they were only removed out of their post but then, there had been an order to kill them and all of my clan."
"Forgive me, Jane," Lord Geralt held her hands tightly and at that time, he saw her mesmerizing green eyes. "I wasn't able to stop her..."
Jane laughed uncomfortably. "It wasn't your fault, sire. We are all here because of her and all of the people resisting her believes in the Power of the Elves."
"My grandson..." Lord Geralt sighed. "He's half-elf. I can trust him and he's Queen Victorina's heir but I can't totally give my loyalty to any of them."
Jane was surprised. "Being in the grey area will not give you an advantage but instead, it will give you a disadvantage. Soon, you will have to choose with whom you give your loyalty!"
