Akua couldn't shake off the feeling that Elijah had left her with. She had so many questions, but he had vanished into thin air, leaving her with only her thoughts.
As she made her way back to her cottage, Akua couldn't help but wonder about Elijah. Who was he, really? And how did he know her secret?
But most of all, she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him. It was forbidden, she knew. Her pack's laws were clear: no relationships with outsiders, especially not with those who knew their secret.
But Akua couldn't help the way she felt. She had never felt this way about anyone before. It was as if Elijah had awakened a part of her that she never knew existed.
As she approached her cottage, Akua saw a figure waiting for her by the door. It was her best friend and pack member, Nneoma.
"Akua, where have you been?" Nneoma asked, her eyes narrowing with concern. "I've been looking all over for you."
Akua hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I was just out for a run," she said finally.
Nneoma raised an eyebrow. "A run? Under the full moon? Akua, you know that's not safe."
Akua sighed, feeling a pang of guilt. "I know, Nneoma. But I couldn't help myself. I felt... restless."
Nneoma's expression softened. "I know how you feel. But you have to be careful, Akua. The full moon is a dangerous time for us. And with the stranger in town..."
Akua's heart skipped a beat. "What stranger?" she asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Nneoma's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Don't play dumb, Akua. I know you've seen him. Elijah, the outsider. He's been asking questions about our pack."
Akua felt a shiver run down her spine. What did Elijah want? And why was he asking questions about her pack?
But most of all, she couldn't shake off the feeling that Elijah was connected to the forbidden attraction she felt. And that thought scared her more than anything else.
