Twins Helena and Henry looked on their worlds shaking their heads. Opposite each other in many ways, their own worlds reflected those differences. Helena's world, full of happiness, selflessness, and peace was the perfect place for light witches. Henry's world, full of hate, battles, and selfishness was perfect for those wizards of the dark. From the beginning of time, Helena and Henry understood that light and dark must exist together for the world to work. They allowed their creations that choice of how much of each would be allowed to thrive. Lately however, a shift has happened causing unrest between these worlds. Where dark was just on the surface, now pure evil was swelling and dark wizards slipped away into their sister dimension. As more dark wizards come into their world, the witches have started feeling resentment for their brother world. More and more battles and wars have happened and now the witches are slowly turning to darkness. Those that maintain their light status are being pushed into the corners of their own worlds as they continue to push for peace.
Helena had never felt more anger towards her twin then she did now. She'd created her world and creations to celebrate the light of the universe. Henry felt sorry for Helena and the unbalance in her world. His world rejoiced in the dark magic of the world. Neither forces the creations one way or the other. From their birth, they were free to choose which of the twins they would serve. As Helena looked over her world she focuses on a lone witch. This witch had been in the light her entire life and as unbidden evil flowed threw the land she still celebrates light.
Hellen, named by her parents after their goddess, lit the candles at her feet as she gave thanks to each of five elements: wind, water, fire, earth, and spirit. As she knelt in the circle she'd created she lit one more candle. Her prayer candle left out over night in the full moon, was all she had to depend on now. The prayer ceremony should have been surrounded by her family. This wasn't the first time she was alone. Leaning back on her heels, she felt the weight of the world as well as her age. Where this should have been a time of joy and peace, her finally days were now replaced by fear and darkness. She'd raised her children and four or five more generations of her blood, but now as she felt life leaving her, the longing of the family she'd raised made her uneasy.
As a young child she'd love watching her grandparents, then her parents dance through the sun, moon, dusk, and dawn. Smiling now, she turned her head to the setting sun as the rays danced across her face. "Goddess of light, i come to you from a place of power. My greatest wish is my greatest fear: to be better than the doubts withing myself. I am only a light and puff of air that dances in your wind. I am only a flame in your glorious fire. I am on a drop of rain in your waters. I am only a sprig on your beautiful earth. I am only one soul in the world of your spirits." She opened her eyes as she pushed herself to her feet, the feat not as easy as it once was as she begin her dance to the setting sun. She no longer felt her age for as always the power that flowed through her made her feel young. As the sun fully set, she picked up the lavender and sage incense and ran it through the prayer candle. Dancing around the circle, she prayed for her world.
"Goddess of Light, Helena, whose whispers in hear in the wind, whose flames keep me warm when there's nothing but cold, whose water keeps me clean and sated, whose earth keeps me grounded and fed, who holds my soul so that in my dying day i return to you.
"I come to you the only way i know, as myself, to ask for guidance. My body hurts but its nothing compared to the pain i feel in my heart and soul. I fear for the wizards that come here seeking shelter from the evil that looms over their world. I fear for my fellow witches who continue to keep the ways of Light. Mostly Goddess, i fear for my bloodline. My family seems to forget you and the Light that's flowed in our veins for generations. So many witches now are of mixed blood. I fear dark may win in their souls and that will wipeout all purity and Light here. My bloodline has stayed pure but their actions i don't understand. They have become selfish and allowed darkness to touch them. Tonight under your moon i burn sage and lavender as i ask for healing and peace within this world."
She ends her pray tears streaming down her face as she kneels back in the center of her circle. "And Goddess, when my life ends i pray to be able to come to you with a clean heart for i do my best to follow the ways of the Light." She stared at the burning incense until the last embers died out along with her tears. As she wiped her face, she stood blowing out the candles in turn and gathered her things. As she left the grounds, unknown to her threads of evil begin to slip into her world.
