Haley’s POV
“So, Blake, what exactly do you do?” Alice asked as we started eating. “I know that you own the Inn, but Haley mentioned that you are a lawyer as well.”
Ryan looked at her and smiled.
“Yes,” he said. “I am a lawyer, but I took over the Inn after my parents died.”
“Oh, I am so sorry to hear that,” Alice said.
“It’s okay,” Ryan said, giving her a small smile. “What do you do?”
“I am a doctor,” Alice said. “I work at the same hospital Haley is working at. We actually met at college.”
Ryan smiled again and looked at Blake.
“What about you, Blake?” he asked. “What do you do?”
Blake looked up at him and forced a small smile on his face. I could see it was fake and I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes at him.
