CHAPTER 1

1691 Words
TALIA POV.   “OOMPF” I get the air knocked out of me as my body gets slammed to the ground. I quickly roll onto my back just in time to see and block a kick with my arms and shove it away. I jump back onto my feet but apparently not fast enough when another kick to the stomach sends me flying a couple of feet backwards back into the dirt. I struggle to breathe as I’m still trying to get back my breath from my first hit to the ground. I groan out in frustration and anger as I hit my fist to ground but submittedly stay down. “You’re not giving your full attention today Talia, you usually have me rolling around in the dirt” A woman says coming over to me and extends her hand to help me up. “Are you okay?” She asks still standing over me with her extended hand. I scowl at her but take her hand to let her pull me up to my feet. “Yeah I’m fine thanks mom.” I say bitterly while scratching the back of my neck. Jip you heard right, I just got my ass handed to me by my own mother but to be fair she has been training since before I was born and has a lot more experience in fights throughout the years afterwards which is unavoidable for werewolves like us. She’s 5.7, with below the shoulder blond hair with chocolaty brown eyes and a curvy figure that men drool over and me? I’m also 5.7, longer raven black hair with dark green eyes.  Mom says I look just like my dad, but I wouldn’t know because I’ve never met him, never even seen a photo of what he looks like. All I know is that his name is Dray. Ever since I can remember it’s just been me and my mom who is like my best friend that I ever could have asked for, and Jack. He was my dad’s best friend whilst growing up and is now like a very, very older brother to me and mom and he doesn’t look a day over twenty-one because he is a vampire. I know I know, vamps and wolfs don’t mix and It’s actually forbidden to take one as a mate but the three of us share a special bond that can’t be broken. I guess you could call us a weird little family, that and because he made an unbreakable promise to my dad to protect us.  I don’t know where my dad is but mom says that it’s safer just being the three of us because when the war broke out between the species of werewolf’s, vampires and witches, dad forced my mom who was still pregnant with me to run into hiding with Jack. In the rush to get away my mom didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to her family or to pack any personal belongs. All she had was a key to a secret safety deposit box that he gave her before he forced her into a car and commanded Jack in his alpha tone to get her to safety. Ever since then it has just been us and we make sure not to stay longer than necessary in one place. “Come on, why don’t we take a cool off run around the park and then go get some dinner huh?” She says smiling at me. “Sound good to me” I say, and we start to run the park trail. Slowly at first but being as competitive as we both are, we ended up in a full-blown race. I win off course. I’m pretty fast and strong too, my mom only gets to kick my ass sometimes when I’m not giving it my all or distracted. Like today. We just moved to this dull little town a couple of days ago while we have barely even unpacked from our previous move. All this moving is really starting to get to me, and I can’t help to feel that every time we move it’s getting more and more dangerous for us but staying too long in one place isn’t safe either. I just wish we could stay long enough in school for me to make at least one friend. I know that sounds petty, but it sometimes gets lonely to have just your mom and Jack around to talk to. And the chances of me finding my mate could also be dangerous because it could expose us. So, I hide my scent to smell almost just like a human and keep to myself. I give a little victory dance on the way to my mom’s car and I hear her giggle at my silliness. We head for our new home when mom asks “So what do you feel like? Chinese or pizza or would you like to go hunting?” mom asks as we pull into the driveway of our little three-bedroom house. “Mmm.. Chinese. We haven’t had that in a while and I’m feeling too tired to go out again” I reply tiredly. Mom nods her head as we head to the door while she fishes for her keys to unlock the door. She steps inside as I follow her and just as I turn to go into the living room something catches my foot and I go plummeting to the ground. Landing on my face.  ”Ahh f**k” I grab my nose and feel sticky wetness on my fingers as I turn to sit on my ass just as the light flickers on and my mom jumps into the room in a attack position making me burst out laughing. She scans the room looking for the attacker before her face falls on me laughing at her from the ground. “ha-ha I just tripped mom I say still holding my nose through my giggles as I kick one of the many packed boxes laying by the living room door.” Mom visibly relaxes and helps me off the floor. “Let me see” she says as she removes my hand from my nose and inspects it. “Hold still” She says and realigns my broken nose as I give out a small whimper of pain.  “Come on, we should get you something to stop the bleeding before you go all wolf on me” She says grinning. She walks through the living room to the open-plan kitchen and hands me a paper towel sheets before walking towards a bar fridge in the corner. After typing in the pass code on the keypad attached to the front it jumps open to reveal a couple of small blood bags. Almost kind of the same they use for blood transfusions. I take a seat at the kitchen table still pinching my nose to stop the bleeding. Pathetic I know. I should be healing in a matter of minutes because I’m a werewolf, right? And I do, well, uhm sometimes, but when I don’t, I’m kind of a bleeder. Probably because of the regular doses of wolfs bane I have to take to keep my wolf Nera under control. My mouth starts to water as I watch my mom pour me a tall glass of blood, setting the rest aside she hands me the glass and I gratefully gulp it down. Mmm, it’s been about a week since I’ve last had blood and I can honestly say that it’s the best thirst quencher there is. I know it’s weird for a werewolf to drink blood and I’m probably the only one that does. My mom says it’s probably because I’m a full blood alpha child. Mom is an alpha female; the daughter of a very powerful alpha and my dad was also a powerful alpha male and the Moon Goddess usually doesn’t pair two alphas to be mates but it’s not unheard of. “Feeling better?” mom asks. I nod in reply as I swallow the last of the contents. I can already feel the blood being absorbed into my body, the tiredness of earlier gone now. I need to drink blood at least once a week otherwise my wolf comes out and goes crazy. I haven’t gotten that part of me under control yet and apparently, she’s quite a crazy b***h as Jack put it. Mom orders us some take out while I clean up my face that is completely healed now and discard of the mess. Soon our order arrives, and my mom and I snuggled in front of the TV to watch a couple of our favorite shows.   -------------------   01/12/2020 Hi guys I'm back and I'm so excited to share another book with you. I know that some of you are waiting on the sequel to T.A.A.M (The Alpha's Abused Mate), but it is still a work in progress so while that is still going, I have decided to post this story that I have been working on and I hope that you guys will love it. This story is a little different than T.A.A.M. I wanted to write a story that would be a little lighter and humorous, but also packed with action and suspense to keep your attention and keep you reading. Any warnings will be given per chapter and there will be mature scenes in later chapters. Please feel free to comment me your thoughts whether it is good or bad because i would appreciate knowing what i'm doing right or what i'm doing wrong. Enjoy and happy reading.
