Daniel stood on the witness stand. He was sworn in to tell the truth. He knew and realized that what he was about to say was a lie. If he was telling the truth then things would be even worse. He couldn't possibly admit that Daniel was still alive. He couldn't have said in front of Joe and Alice who were now present in court that the young man with another face and a new identity who was now standing in front of everyone was his son. Will they believe it? Even if they believe whether the problem will be solved. Then new, far more painful facts will be revealed. Daniel didn't want that to happen. He didn't want to see his parents have to be ashamed and sad because of him. They'd better think Daniel is gone.
