Chapter 16 Adeline's Childhood Photo

1001 Words
Aiden's POV Adeline wrapped her hands around herself defensively as she saw my eyes fixed on her seeds, oh s**t! I meant to say chest, was it even her chest? Okay, I'll admit, I was staring at her boobs but it's still the same thing. Her boobs are on her chest, right? "What are you staring at?" She asked, raising a brow. "Y..you, why aren't you wearing a bra?" I splayed my palm across my mouth when I realised what I just said. I...I.. didn't mean to ask that! My God! "I..umm...the hooks just broke off yesterday and..and I can't wear it like that." She answered, sitting on the bed and turning her back just to prevent me from watching her more. Wow! Adeline's just so straightforward. "I'll add that to the list of things Nora would get at the boutique." "38." "Uh?" I wondered what she meant by that. "I mean, that's my bra size, you wouldn't want to get something that I wouldn't be able to wear." I felt a lump in my throat at the mention of her words. Why would she...oh Lord. Well, she said the right thing. I had to know the bra size. Copy that, Aiden. Bra size– 38. "So are you going to remain that way until Nora gets t..the bra?" I gestured towards her hands which were still clasped around her. "Oh... it's nothing." She smiled. "I'm just being protective." "For real, you think I'd…" "I just want to make sure we're both safe. I have to do this, it's for our good." "I do not have the right to look at you even when we're married?" She shook her head. "That's not what I meant. You know…" She trailed off, shrugging. "Are you sure you'd be able to control yourself when you see me this way." The moment she put down her arms and looked at me, I almost lost my self control. "That's it!" She sighed, folding her arms. "Your eyes are glued to them." I quickly looked away, something was really wrong with me. Since when did I start to get hot staring at a lady's body. "It's no problem, though. I'm your husband, so there's no crime if I stare at them all day." I shrugged and the next minute felt really stupid what I had said. "You sure we're gonna be fine? Remember what I told you earlier." "That you aren't ready to mate with me?" "Exactly." Adeline gave me a head nod. "Okay. Do you have more reasons? Like...it shouldn't be the fact that you aren't ready?" "I'm still in high school, Aiden. What do you think others would say when I..I..get pregnant?" Oops, I didn't think of that earlier. Her face curled into a big frown. What's wrong? "Is anything the problem?" "Your uncle only wants us married for a year. I should only be your caregiver." She pointed out. "You said it too, so I can't probably get pregnant." "Right now, I take back my words, okay?" "Like you want us married forever?" "Yeah, I do. And when I become the Alpha, you'll be my Luna too. I just can't wait to gain back my sight." My eyes flung open when she hugged me, her n*****s poking my chest. I was left with no option that to stay still and keep looking like a fool. Adeline, you're doing things to me. "You'll get back everything, husband. Your victory is just a few steps away. After you receive your sight, the moment your wolf awakens, everything would be peaceful again." She smiled, patting me on the back. Even though she was trying to lift my hopes, I was somewhat baffled. What if my wolf never awakens? That was one of the crucial things to become an Alpha in my pack. "Don't you have friends?" Adeline suddenly asked out of the blue. "Friends?" I repeated and she nodded. While the painful memory played in my head, I rubbed my forehead. The only friend I had was Lucas and he died years ago, he was the only son of my father's Beta. He lost his life in a war while fighting to get back the artifact an enemy Pack stole from us. I was young then and could barely understand anything but I knew for sure that Lucas was murdered. "He, died." I simply answered, heaving a deep sigh. "Uh, he's late?" I nodded. "Why do you ask?" She shrugged. "Nothing really, just wanted to know. We might just ask if for help but since you said he's.. I'm so sorry for reminding you." She said, rubbing my arm. I flashed her a faint smile, even though I've been trying to forget about it, it just seemed impossible. Lucas was a very good friend to me and had appeared in my dreams a couple of times. "Marry someone pretty who would be capable of handling your cold attitude." He would always tell me. And...I paused in my thoughts looking at Adeline. I've fulfilled my promise to Lucas by having a beauty queen like Adeline. "Do you have a picture of him?" She asked. "Yeah." I nodded, rummaging through the things in my drawer.. I brought out the photo, showing her Lucas's pictures. He was a cute guy and all the ladies would always swarm around me. Same with me too but with my aloofness, I get them taking to their heels. Lucas is jovial but a playboy. He got tagged as the number one ass f*cker in school even though he was just 15. Crazy right? Yeah, I know right? Sometimes I do pity the young girls buying him gifts and sending numerous love letters. Did they really know whom they were dealing with? Lucas never cared about any girl emotions. He has no serious relationships and after he was done f*cking the hell outta them, he dumps them for another. "Aiden?" Adeline called snapping me out of my thoughts. "Why do you have my childhood photo?"
