Early the next morning, Lila came over to help her pack her luggage.
Seraphina rubbed her sleepy eyes, listening to Lila's nagging:
"Ms. Veyra, when the crew comes to film us packing, just pack what I laid out for you. Don't do anything on your own."
Lila had good reason to warn her.
Last season, Seraphina packed five huge suitcases by herself—so many that one car couldn't fit them all, exhausting the cast and crew.
They were traveling to a tropical country, but she packed two down jackets.
Naturally, she got dragged online by everyone.
The front door opened, followed by a flurry of footsteps.
"The crew said they'd be here at 9! It's only 7, why are they here already?!" Lila checked her watch, panicking. "We haven't even finished packing!"
Seraphina forced herself awake and got out of bed to check if the crew had arrived.
But at the corner of the hallway, she crashed straight into a hurrying Kael Halewood.
Their eyes met, their warm bodies pressed together. Both were shocked, speaking at the same time: "You're home?"
Seraphina was wearing a pink silk nightgown, her fair skin glowing pink against the fabric, her messy hair falling over her shoulders, her eyes full of sleepy confusion.
The soft, sweet scent jolted Kael back to his senses first.
He pulled her upright and explained: "I'm going to record a show soon."
Seraphina's sleepiness faded a little. She rubbed her eyes and said: "Oh, I'm recording a show too."
A flicker of emotion crossed Kael's cold eyes: "Wanderlust Together?"
Seraphina nodded, yawning: "Mhm."
Kael's assistant Liam leaned out, surprised, and blurted out without thinking: "I thought you dropped out because of your injury?!"
That was why the company agreed for his boss to be a guest star this season.
If these two were on the same show, he couldn't even imagine how chaotic the internet would get.
And with Seraphina's track record of chaos, she would definitely get his boss mocked by the entire internet.
Liam looked at his boss and tested: "Mr. Halewood, should we drop out—"
Before he could finish, Kael cut him off: "No. We'll record as planned."
Seraphina stared at the two of them strangely, having no idea what they were plotting.
"I'm the guest star for this season of Wanderlust Together," Kael said calmly, noticing her confused look.
Seraphina cursed silently in her head. The crew and her agency were definitely up to no good, planning to stir up drama.
Liam only felt sorry for his boss, praying silently that his boss would cause less trouble, and that the recording would go smoothly.
At 9 o'clock sharp, the crew arrived on time to start filming.
Kael opened the door for them. The cameramen set up their cameras and turned on the live stream directly, per the director's orders.
The two of them were rarely seen together, so the cameramen didn't miss a single shot, filming them nonstop.
A staff member held out two envelopes and said mysteriously: "Please pick our travel destination, both of you."
Seraphina and Kael each drew a postcard. It read: Georgia.
The picture showed endless snow-capped mountains and tall, ancient castle complexes.
The cameraman zoomed in for a close-up of the postcard, so the audience could clearly read the words.
"Where is this?"
She thought it sounded familiar, like she had heard it before.
But she couldn't remember for the life of her.
The director smiled slyly behind the camera: "It's a secret."
They loved seeing the cast confused—this was a remote destination they had spent ages finding.
Kael already started reading from a search: "Georgia, located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia."
"Bordered by Russia to the north, Azerbaijan and Armenia to the southeast and south…"
The director's proud smile froze: "..." This was what getting intellectually crushed felt like!
Next, the cameraman followed Kael into his bedroom, panning the camera around the room on purpose.
The bedroom was minimalist and luxurious, decorated in light gray tones. The custom transparent closet doors were closed, faintly showing rows of high-end tailored suits inside.
It was clearly a bedroom with no trace of a woman living there.
This was when the live stream audience flooded in.
[AHHH I can't believe it! Kael hasn't been on a variety show in ages, and his first appearance is on this stupid show!!!]
[Right? A show with four nobodies and one i***t—somehow they got Kael. Iconic.]
[Standing next to that white lotus b***h—I'm about to throw up my last meal!]
[Green tea b***h, stay away from our man! Get lost!]
[Did you guys notice? The god doesn't even share a bedroom with that woman!]
[Hahaha I thought I was the only one who saw that.]
[So our god is still pure!!!]
After noticing this detail, the audience in the comment section was happier than they were for New Year.
Kael fixed his clothes and daily items in front of the camera. A staff member whispered to him: "Mr. Halewood, please say a few words."
Kael was folding a black coat, his long, fair fingers wrapping around a belt—unbelievably pleasing to the eye.
"This trip is short, so I only packed a few sets of clothes."
"I have allergies, so I brought some medication," Kael said, tossing a medicine kit into his suitcase.
The comment section exploded with screams:
[AHHH tie me up, sir, tie me up…]
[Kael's voice is so beautiful I could listen to it forever! My ears are pregnant!]
[His fingers are so long—longer than my entire life!]
[If his fingers are this long, I can't imagine how long other parts are!]
[Girl upstairs, spill—what other parts?!]
Next it was Seraphina's turn to pack. She had been on similar shows before transmigrating, so she knew the drill.
She smiled softly at the camera first, then started showing her items step by step.
The cameraman was dazed by her sweet smile, almost dropping the camera.
"These are my skincare products—all travel-sized, easy to carry."
"We're traveling to Georgia, and it's still hot in August, so I only packed lightweight clothes."
Holding a pen, Seraphina explained: "This is a stain remover pen—it gets rid of marks on clothes, super convenient."
The comment section flooded with mockery:
[Heh, scared of getting dragged online last time, finally packed with a brain this time.]
[I still remember this woman's crazy moves last time—she didn't pack daily necessities for a trip, and the team had to buy her stuff with their tight budget. Total idiot.]
[Say what you want, Seraphina is stupid but stunning. When she smiled at me just now, I swear I fell in love!]
[Who'd date her? You want a green hat in your life?]
Once they finished packing, they dragged their suitcases to the crew's car, heading to the city airport.
They had to fly from the city airport to New York, meet the other four cast members, then fly from New York to Georgia.
The entire ride, Kael barely spoke, sitting cold and quiet.
Seraphina wanted to chat with him a little for show effect, but seeing his "don't talk to me" expression, she clamped her mouth shut immediately.
The two sat in silence, staring at their phones, with a gap as wide as the Grand Canyon between them.
They didn't look like a newly married couple at all—they looked like a pair who had just gotten divorced!
The fans were overjoyed, sending red envelopes left and right in fan groups.
Celebrating their god getting one step closer to being single again!
