Just a normal day

376 Words
It happened on a day like any other day. I started out the day with a cup of tea, then went to the shop. I own my own tea shop. It isn't anything amazing, just a little hole in the wall that didn’t look like much. I sell herbs, most of which I would grow in my garden, at home. The day in the shop was a normal day. A few of my normal customers come in to get some tea. Some swear that it cures them of all kinds of things. While I do believe that tea can be a remedy for many things, it's not a cure all. When the day was done, I went home. Nothing really happened on my home. I had no clue what was going to happen. My home was a small house with only one bedroom and not much to look at, but it was in the woods. I had a large garden, a small babbling brook and plenty of trees. I had decided to go for a walk in my little slice of heaven before settling in for the night. That was a normal thing I would do almost every night. The walk in the woods was what I needed after dealing with customers all day. It rejuvenated me and brought me back to nature. I walked the path I had walked a thousand times before. Along the brook to the left, it turned into the woods, that came to a small clearing with a huge willow tree that had so much character to it. The bark didn’t follow in a straight line. It looked as if it had been twisted one way and then the other. I always loved sitting  under this tree. It was almost like it could hear me when I talked to it.  Today I talked to it like I did another day, telling it my problems and hopes. Eventually, I had nothing more to say and just sat there listening to the wonderful noise of the forest. I must have dozed off because when I woke up it was dark. Pitch black. I couldn’t see anything. I rubbed my eyes trying to look around so that I could find my way back home.
