The ground stopped shaking. Roots slithered back into cracks in the concrete like snakes retreating to their dens. The warehouse fell quiet except for ragged breathing and the creak of metal settling. Elder Cassia stood perfectly still in the center of the chaos. Her blind eyes saw everything.
"Three days." Her voice cut through the silence. "Three days to complete the Triad Bond or die alone."
