Councilor Helena Frost smiled at me like a predator that had finally cornered its prey. Her words about my mother's screams still echoed in my head. Still burned through my chest like acid. Xander lunged at her but three council wolves intercepted him. The warehouse exploded into violence. Teeth. Claws. Blood spraying across concrete.
