Natalie's POV
I felt them before I saw them. The ground trembled beneath my feet. Not from an earthquake. From footsteps. Hundreds of them marching in perfect rhythm. The vibration traveled up through my legs and into my chest where it matched the nervous beating of my heart.
"They are here." My voice came out steady even though my hands wanted to shake.
Xander was already moving. Organizing the wolves into defensive positions. His alpha instincts took over and he barked orders like he had been born to lead battles. "Spread out. Cover the eastern approach. Do not engage unless I give the signal."
Mira climbed onto a high rock with binoculars. Scanned the horizon. Her face went pale. "How many do you see?" I called up to her.
