The rain fell in soft, steady sheets, drumming against the roof of the dorm cottage and pooling in the yard. Leah lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling, her chest tight with a longing she couldn't contain. She kept remembering how she had asked Sath to give her space. And how well he had complied to her. Too well. It had been three weeks since Sath had left for his industrial placement in Ivory City, and every day felt emptier than the last. Her exams had long been over.
