Frank I marched through the thick forest. Each step I took was driven by the anger burning inside me like a raging fire. Trent, my wolf, had been unusually quiet. My jaw tightened as his presence simmered in the back of my mind. Like he was waiting for the right moment to pounce. “That was a stupid idea,” I muttered under my breath. My words were meant for Trent. But I couldn’t deny the bitterness behind them. "I’m not the one being stupid," Trent retorted. "You did the right thing. That rose was long overdue," he added with amusement in his voice. I clenched my fists. “The rose was a mistake,” I snapped. “She’ll take it the wrong way.
