The next day, there were no planned activities. Alpha Edward and Luna Eunice decided to give everyone a rest. Since we arrived, this was the only time we took a step back in our activities.
I watched him from across the room, standing tall and serious, like always. There was something about the way he carried himself that made me want to get closer…to see him let go of that tough exterior. I’d tried, of course. A lot of times, actually. And maybe, just maybe, today would be the day he’d let me in.
I couldn’t help but notice how his eyes would sometimes soften, or how when he did smile. It made everything feel brighter despite his obvious animosity towards me. I wondered what it would be like to spend time with him without all the walls. Maybe he’d open up if I could get him away
