Chapter 2:Workday II: Luna's POV

_I hear and I forget, I see and I remember , I do and I understand_ Confucius.

Rrrinnngg "Ugh I am up don't make me deaf!". Damn this thing is too loud, I thought as I got up with my ears ringing.

That is kind of the point though, to wake me up. I trudged to the bathroom and lazily began to prepare for work.

I was finally awake after taking a hot bath. As I stood in front of my walk in closet and thought on what to wear, I realized that I have a meeting with DOL:C staffs today. I ought to check the meeting draft and see if it needed any adjustments. Although I trust Lyric's efficiency, one can never be too careful. I abandoned checking for what to wear and instead went to the living room to grab my laptop. I quickly checked through before reading through it at a slower pace. I noticed that she had highlighted the fact that their boss would not be attending. Instead there were department heads and one top executive in attendance. I don't really mind as long as they are able to work effectively and efficiently.

When I was satisfied with the overall draft, I made hot chocolate and a sandwich for breakfast and then got dressed. I ditched skirt for a suit pants and a sleeveless top paired with a blazer jacket.

Duncan was outside waiting by the car.

I allowed him to drive me to work today because I had use for my hands. I released a sigh when I saw that the traffic was as bad as it was yesterday.

"Wicked traffic", Duncan mumbled.

"Tell me about it" I replied sighing again.

"You look very busy, how is the project coming along?" Duncan asked.

"Oh it's coming along just fine, great even. Although it is still in a development stage, it looks promising".

"I can tell that you are happy even though it's quite stressful".

"I am," I replied him. Even though it's a lot of work I couldn't be happier. This was a stepping stone not only for the company but for me as an individual too.

After almost an hour I got to the office.

"I will let you know when you can come pick me up later Dee, meanwhile have a lovely day".

"Thank you L, I will be sure to, do have fun though" he smirked at me.

"Of course I will, weaving through meetings and endless mails and files". I replied him.

"Sounds like a load of fun", he teased with a twinkle in his eyes.

I gave him a 'duh' face and said goodbye with a smile.

Lyric was waiting in my office so we immediately headed to the conference hall. The staffs from DOL:C were already seated. I sat down as I studied each person's appearance as they introduced themselves. I was pleasantly surprised to see that at least half of them were ladies. You see, in the tech industry, it is mostly male dominated and it is always refreshing to see woman take the lead from time to time. They were all smartly dressed and looked professional.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I am Ledger Murray and I am DOL:C team head for this project. I just say, it's my pleasure to meet with you all and it's an honor to work with you Miss Barlowe ". He said that last part while making eye contact with me.

"Mr Schaeffer sent his sincere apologies for his absence due to a sudden change in his schedule. He also sent his best wishes and expressed his hope to be in at the next meeting".

The meeting proceeded after the pleasantries. Suggestions were made and discarded, ideas were crossed off and new ones added and Coffee was served with snacks while it went on.

It was pretty intense considering the fact that it was a major project and it was in the development stage.

After the meeting, we went out to have a late lunch at a restaurant that Lyric had previously reserved. By the time I got back to the office, it was almost dark. I called Duncan and waited for him to come and pick me. I sat wearily at my desk and waited. A few minutes later, he arrived and I took the elevator down.

Duncan took one glance at me and furrowed his brows. "Rough day today?"

"Yeah, pretty intense too".

"You need to get good food in you and a good night's rest ".

"Definitely, thanks Dee ".

I stopped by a good restaurant that I often ate at and ordered takeaway. Even though I had a late lunch, I would need to eat so that I will be able to sleep all through the night without being hungry.

Duncan knew that I would always wake up in the middle of the night if I did not have a good dinner.

After a good dinner and warm bath, I immediately got in bed and did not attempt to work again. Tomorrow was definitely going to be busy and I would need my energy. I yawned wide as seep beckoned me into it's blissful embrace.
