"With all due respect sir do you think that's a good idea?" pretty eyes asked stepping out of the shadows.
"Why wouldn't it be," the king responded.
"She's not ready for battle and that's not fair to the island," pretty eyes argued.
"Do you think sitting around and not doing anything is fair either," the king said pushing doctors away from him, "she is the chosen one and the prophets has never lied to us. The island is dying and I'm dying so this is better than not doing anything."
"Yes Sir," pretty eyes responded but you could here annoyance in his tone.
"I have an idea," the king started, "since you don't think she's prepared you can travel with her."
"No thank you sir," he said way too quick for my liking.
"Well what do you guys think?" the king asked everyone else in the room.
"I personally agree with that," J agreed causing me to glare at him.
"Does anyone else agree?" the king asked again after no one else responded.
"I agree,"
"I second that,"
"That is a wise plan,"
"See everyone in here agrees," the king boasted, "what do you think chosen one."
"I don't think that's a-," I was about to say 'good plan' but with the look J was sending me I quickly changed my mind, "bad plan."
"Then it's settled, you will be traveling with the chosen one," the king declared with a clap.
"Yay," I mumbled sarcastically under my breath, but by the look pretty eyes was shooting at me I sure he heard.
"Now I need everyone out of the room except you three," he said pointing at pretty eyes, J and I. When everyone was out of the room he ushered us to a secret door that was blocked by parts of the throne and curtains that was hung behind both of the thrones.
."This is where the queen and I stored important artifacts about the island and some the island gave us," the king explained with a solemn look on his face.
He opened the door to reveal shelves that were decorated by gold, gems and what looked like ancient scrolls and books. The walls were covered in paintings they were different from the ones that were being showcased yet I felt I pull towards them, it was almost overwhelming.
"We made the room after Chilton attacked, which I'm sure Jaluron already explained," he spoke closing the door behind him, "we were afraid it would happen again."
"That's smart," I stated studying a vase that was embellished with diamonds.
"It was the queen's idea," he spoke, his voice gentle. There was a moment of silence from him probably thinking about the love of his life, I took this time to study him. His brunette hair with blonde highlights was disheveled looking as if he ran his hand through his hair, if you looked hard enough you could see the dark circles under his hazel colored eyes and his upturned nose was covered with freckles that showed up on his slightly tanned skin. I was broken out of my little trance when I saw the king shake his head and snapped his fingers.
"Right I came here to give you this," the king spoke walking towards a large cabinet; "Killian and Adora will be needing this map."
"Why couldn't we use the maps you normally give us?" pretty eyes asked.
"This map is more detailed and will help with mission even though this will take longer," the king explained still looking in the large cabinet, "I didn't give this to the warriors because I knew there would be a big chance they wouldn't be able to bring her back but know I'm confident."
"You're really putting your trust into her?" pretty eyes asked sounding irritated.
"That was rude," I told him but he ignored me.
"Yes, I am," the king spoke, "I really have nothing left to lose. If this doesn't work there is no hope."
"Don't worry we'll get her back," I spoke confidently although I was being eaten by guilt and anxiety,
"Thank you," he responded finally pulling his head out the cabinet with a scroll in his hands, "now let's get down to business."
He opened the scroll on the long mahogany table and when it had finally reached it's length it turned into a 3d map. The map had different sections that kinda reminded me of Zootopia, there was the forests, seas, the cold mountains and where the main population lives which we were in, but the section that caught my attention was one that was surrounded with dead plants and animals it had a gloomy cloud hanging over the palace that was there.
"And I'm guessing this is where they're keeping the Queen," I voiced as I pointed to the gloomy place.
"Yes, but we'll get to that later," the king answered, "the map shows every division in the island, these people will make the journey a little easier."
"Why?" J asked, "I have never seen any of these tribe visit us, so why would the help us?"
"They know the important of the queen and besides just because the people haven't seen them doesn't mean I haven't," he stated cheekily.
"Do you've met them?" J asked excitedly.
"The queen makes it a priority to be friends with everyone on the island, so I know they will help us get her back," the king admitted.
"So why not tell the army about this?" me and pretty eyes spoke at the same time causing him to glare at me.
"Well I knew about the chosen one before anyone," the king revealed.
"What? Even before the prophets?" J asked flabbergasted.
"Yes, the queen actually found out but of course I wanted to deny the fact that I couldn't help the love of the life when I needed to," he explained, "she told me to keep it secret because she didn't want the people to stress. She made her own little victory map that was supposed to be a sure guarantee we get her out, but no one knows where she hid it, she said 'only the chosen one will know and only the chosen should see' ."
"So we're going a quest to find the map?" I asked.
"Yes and after finding the map we'll be sure to get her back," the king stated proudly.
"It'll be like a little treasure hunt and I'm really good at treasure hunts," I bragged.
"Well that's good," the king smiled at me, "now let's get to planning."
