I smiled at Mia as she ended the call with Rowan. I'm not sure how long it would take for him to understand what she told him. I am sure that once he understands the position in which he finds himself, he is going to be furious. No doubt he will try his usual gaslighting, his professions of undying love, and all that rot.
It had worked on me in my past life. But in this lifetime? Not a chance. I had learned Rowan's true character the hard way. It took far too long for me to accept the evidence of my own eyes. It took me far too long to accept that the only one working on our marriage had been me. It took far too long for me to learn, but learn I did.
